Oh wait... Luke did shoot womprats in his T-16. Perhaps there is some armament. But yeah, you'r right, he'd scratch the paint job by crashing.
The ability to blast defenseless desert creatures is insignificant next to the power of a fully functional BATTLE STATION.... err, I mean any variant of the beloved TIE FIGHTER (preferrably the TIE HUNTER)!

I actually prefer the TIE Oppressor.  It's fast, maneuverable, and able to take down a Corvette solo (I know, I've done it)!

Man, those Seinar designers will just slap wings everywhere, won't they?

too true about the wings everywhere.
I got the rest of the armor painted, no new picks unless it is so desired by all of you to see the previously rusty metal turned black?
I'll be starting... soon hopefully, on getting some holes drilled and attatching the armor to the pants and jacket.

It sounds awesome.  I can't wait to see how it turns out.  Um, out of curiosity, how much is this rig going to weigh?

i'll weight it when i'm done, but it'll be a bit. I wore the bucket to school on holloween and it went pretty well, i think i wore it for almost an hour till me neck got tired and then i took a break.
Its worth it though, the peace of mind not having to worry about plastic getting broken :)

I can understand the weight issue a little.  My Ren Faire Garb includes a nice little chainmail waistcoat.  It's only 30 pounds that is evenly spread across my shoulders...  so, what kind of suspension harness are you using?

I'm going to use post screws to essentially rivet all the armor to a jacket and pants. I might sew some sort of support harness underneath the jacket after testing it out.

Yeah poor luke was lucky to walk away from the crash,in fact his uncle grounded him for reckless flying!
Yes,Massive Starships will always have a place but the key to any combat in the air or space shall be fighters!((Preferably TIE Phantoms))

Leg room?  You do know that TIEs are piloted by the legs, right?  The hands are used to control the gunnery.  Right leg is pitch and yaw, left leg is roll and throttle...  What good is leg room if stretching means you bank into a wall at full speed?

That totally explains why Bill has destroyed more Ties then anyone can count.  All he does is try to relax on the job.
