Playing SWTOR??
« on: February 07, 2012, 12:27:01 PM »
Is anyone playing swtor? What's your character class & name? What servers are you playing on? Do you like swtor? Comparisons to SWGalaxies?
My character name is Ceric Smuggler Gunslinger on Rakata Mind Prison.
I'm looking to play with others on different servers. Anyone?

I am still subbed to TOR, but I have decided not to play :-/

I played Star Wars Galaxies for almost 3 years, and I really enjoyed it. TOR is a great game, but having come from SWG, it definitely is not the same. I mainly do PvP, and TOR isn't for me. If I was more into RP or PvE, then TOR would probably be one of the best games ever.

I'm playing it, level 34 bounty hunter (Galathil), level 28 sith inquisitor (Trumbi), and level 18 sniper (Imbri), all on Master Zhar Lestin.

I'm liking it quite a bit so far. There's definitely things I would like added to it so I don't get burnt out with the end game, but we'll see how that goes when I get there. Space combat would be a lot cooler if it wasn't on rails like it is now. Never played SWG so I can't compare.

Ron, Jason, Nick, and I all play in the same guild and are on Shadowlands server for our Empire side characters, and Canderous Ordo for our Republic side characters. The guild is currently closed for recruitment, but we can all vouch for and sneak in any fellow 501st/RL friends :) Just let us know if you decide do much playing on our server.

Character name wise I'm an altoholic, so just look for any character running around with a last name of Nightblade on my empire side, or Nightsong on my republic side, and that'll be me.

To expand on what Kim's already stated I run a level 22 Bounty Hunter and a level 16 Sith Maurader.Look for the Bounty Hunter Zyrix,he might be called"Zyrix the Merciless"

But I'll make a republic side character and hop into combat with you buddy!

I gots me 3 characters, all on Space Slug
-Brutaliss (my main); bounty hunter (lvl 35ish)
-Mctubbs; Jedi knight (lvl 24ish)
-Midhir; Sith warrior (lvl 14ish)
It seems like I'm all alone on Space Slug though. Anyone know if they do server transfers yet?

I have an empire character on Shadowlands. Insurgent or something. Like level 6 or 7. Still trying to figure it all out. Longtime player of WOW so I get it, just adjusting for now.

Awesome Terry! I'm a WoW convert as well, it's not too difficult to get used to the control differences. The main part I had to adjust to was the idea that I couldn't jump while standing on a slanted surface... Got stuck in a lot of crevices and missed a lot of datacron jumps before I got the hang of it. If you decide to stick around on Shadowlands and need a guild, we can vouch for you to our guild to get you in :)

Hi all,

I was wondering where should I get the program? After playing CnC (Command and Conquer (Sp?)) for years, along with getting hooked on the SWTOR videos (on Utube) I have had my fill, and know I have become interested in playing SWTOR. I know about the download, on their website, or is, there, a DVD disk the thing I should buy?

Thank you for any help,

Hi Hoot!

This link has a breakdown comparing their subscription tiers: paid, preferred and free. -- http://www.swtor.com/free/features
I am in the middle "preferred status", because I bought a physical copy of the game at launch.  You can download for free, and then spend $5 once in their shop to get to the same level, so I wouldn't bother chasing after any boxes.   The top tier is a monthly fee.

Warcraft is still my "main MMO", but I actually just started playing through the missions in SWTOR with my neglected trooper last week after seeing someone's awesome havoc squad armor build on one of the 501st forums (it's a rebel costume however). :)  The servers I was playing on got merged in my absence over to the Harbinger and I lost all of my character names with that... but I never played the game very deeply.
