That time of year again...Halloween!
« on: October 29, 2009, 10:42:03 AM »
So, Jodi and I are going to a party in Eugene this Saturday and we'll be dressed as Batman and Catwoman (pictures to follow).

But in order to hopefully kick off some cool photo posts, I thought this was pretty brilliant costume idea (even though it isn't me) :) :

Ha, well definitely post some pics.  And if you need any tips on how to improve a Bat costume, I'm happy to help.

I've been spending almost every free moment since last weekend trying to get my Batman Begins armor mounted and everything situated properly.  I messed up on mounting the leg armor, and it will have to be redone, but I don't have time to do it so it will have to do for now.  Here's a few unfinished, in progress shots before the leg armor was added, and a shot after leg armor, and one of the back.  Nobody ever sees the back since the cape covers it, but I like to be as accurate as possible, and this is how the film suits were made.   :)

You'll also notice the biceps are a bit "floppy" but that's because I didn't glue them down yet as I need to add some foam padding and trim a bit...  my own biceps are so puny, without the foam they'd fold up and would look terrible.

If I can ever get trim enough, I'd probably down for the '66 Batman a la Adam West.

Allan's getting me talked into potentially doing an Adam West Bat suit...  So I'm keeping my eyes open and doing some research on that costume.   But I feel like I need to shed some extra lbs to pull that one off correctly.  Black molded rubber helps hide a lot of that.

I have the DVD set of 1966 Batman series for inspiration for Karyn's Batgirl Costume.. The best I could do is The Riddler. LOLOL.. Thanks to David ..LOL..This has been a fun turn.  I hope to have her batgirl done by first part of year. I am thinking about Riddler.. but I don't think I could pull it off.

Riddler would be awesome!  You could totally pull off a Frank Gorshin Riddler.  Would need to slick back your hair to get the right look, but could always go with the hat and jacket look rather than the more traditional tights.
