Clone Wars Blooper (already)?
« on: November 02, 2008, 10:05:07 PM »
Anybody notice when Obi-wan said "R2 units are a dime a dozen?"
Since when did the republic start using American currency?

NERD

Ditto!

NO Tony isn't.  He is enough of a Star Wars fan to notice that someone in LucasFilm Ltd. made a mistake. Plus he is the first, of all of us, to notice the MAJOR mistake.  If anyone has a problem with that I am ready...

C'mon.... it's not like this hasn't happened before. Han's reference to not wanting to be a "sitting duck", anyone? I mean, helllllooooooo!

Besides, we don't know, maybe there is some form of monetary unit that is called the dime in the Old Republic, we just don't know.....

I have met Tony and YES he is.  Flame on.  But that doesn't make him less of a nerd.  It was more of a joke than anything because I know Tony.  Let me know if YOU have a problem and I will take care of it.

It's from deviantart.com. I found that, from time to time, I find some great pictures (smilies, wallpapers, etc.) from the, various, artists.

Just because I like to play dress up, can quote various sci fi from back to front, have a few pokemon cards, remember d&d before it was ad&d, and watch anime doesn't make me a nerd. Well okay it does.

You know on a side note I once told some one I like to do costuming, while at the time they were looking at my TS kit, and they asked
"What are you going to be? A Microwave?"

BEAT THAT!!!!!

I own an Atari 2600... and have about $500 worth of Magic: The Dithering cards... what's your point.

As for the Blooper, I believe they missed the colloquialism or just ignored the non-canonical reference to ensure the kids understood what they were talking about.

Now that is a logical explanation. It is a kids show, so it should be ok. Little kids aren't going to be the uber nerds that us other uber nerds are. It is just Star Wars to them!

But..... Han did flip a coin to Wuher and apologized for making a mess. So, we can see that they do have coin credits, as well as credit chips. It is reasonable to assume that they have a "dime" within their system of monetary currency.

Geek alert...

The currency of the Galactic Empire came in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, and up.  There was nothing below the decimal (i.e. .5, .10. etc).

Really? You're going to through that out? A lesser form of canon?
I'm still going to hold out that they have the "dime" currency.... or maybe "dime" is the 10.00c note/chip/whatever they call this monetary unit?

Yeah, Boba (Vossler), I said canon..... whatchagonnado?
