Custom Clone ABS Belt
« on: July 13, 2008, 01:19:24 AM »
Ok so I have the MG Clone set up, but have never been happy with the belt, so
I've decided to form my own. I want to make custom, functional, ABS belt boxes,
and a custom ABS belt. I made the mold for the center detail today and pulled one.
Keep in mind this is just supposed to represent the center piece. The actual wrap
around part of the belt will be made later. What do you think? Opinions and comments
appreciated.

Looks good so far Cooter.  Is that center parts vacuformed ABS or what.  You said you made the mold so I'm just curious.

Yes it is Vac formed ABS. I wanted it to have Crisp details, which is  something MG belt lacks. The belt portions, that you wrap around your waist, will look like the foam belt version, and will have interlocking parts, that will need to be glued together, but will be covered by the belt boxes.

Yup. If you're having trouble painting abs, before you paint it just take a piece of fine grit sand paper
(400 is fine, I use a grey scotch brite pad) and give your abs a once over. From there your paint will stick just fine.

Cooter, let me know when you start making a back piece to hold the thermal detonator. I need something better for my belt than what I currently have....
