Not getting notifications

I seem not to be getting email notifications in instances where I should have.

These are my settings for topics and boards:

[box checked] Turn notification on when you post or reply to a topic.

For topics and boards I've requested notification on, notify me:
Instantly

For topics and boards I've requested notification on, notify me of:
Replies and moderation

(Emails about new threads on boards I follow have always been spotty, but until recently, I was at least getting emails from replies to threads I was following.)

And these are my settings for messages:

Notify by email every time you receive a personal message:
Always

(Until recently, I was getting emails for messages.)

I verified in my profile that my email address is correct, and I verified in my email inbox that messages were not going to spam. Are there any other settings I'm missing that I should take a look at? Any other thoughts of something I can try to resume getting notifications as desired?

There appears to be something wrong with sending email from our server, I'll try to dig into this but have that whole "work" thing to do first...thanks for bringing it to our attention!

Have this evening/night received a couple dozen or so notifications that appear to have been ones I should have received, but never did. It's like there was a clog in the machine that just got kicked loose, and the backlog of notifications have started coming through... I presume you had something to do with that?

Yes, we had over 400 notifications stuck in the queue. Apparently something changed that made our existing SMPT settings that had worked stop working. Looks like the new settings are working, the queue is now empty . Just took a while because our hosting service has a limit of 100/hour for sending.
