Halloween Safety Event for families with young children
PARKING:
Free Public Parking Parking will be in front of the PD on Division St.  Across the front of the station is a parking lot that you may utilize as well and also the MAPS credit union to the east of us.  If you are arriving at 2:00 parking should not be an issue.


CHANGING AND STORAGE:
We would have a dedicated room inside the police station for changing and storage with a police escort to and from when needed
COSTUME REQUESTS: Darth, Storm Troopers and other cohorts. Chewbacca was requested.
BLASTER POLICY: Blaster and lightsabers are fine.
MEMBERS' CHILDREN IN COSTUME: Yes, children in costume are welcome to attend
OTHER DETAILS:
Geared toward pre-teens with a fun focus on safety for Halloween night.  Because it’s a dress rehearsal, kids dress up in costume to rehearse the big night.  Several stations will be available with officers teaching children and parents on topics such as traffic safety and front door safety.  The event has been running since 2006 and we had around 1500 people in attendance last year.

This one last year brought in huge crowds of people.  They were lined up around the building and the block to enter.  The photo below doesn't do it justice.  It's pretty special, as it started as a cause to increase safety for kids after a tragedy on Halloween.  They set up a photo backdrop area for us, and numerous booths with activities for the kiddos.  They had the bomb robot handing out candy!
