WHAT: Star Wars Day - Tualatin Library
WHERE: Tualatin Public Library in Tualatin
DATE: Saturday, May 4th
TIME: 2pm - 3:30pm
At least 30 mins, but we'd love to have you for the whole of the program. If you'd like to greet participants, that would also be amazing. We have an area off the program room where you can take a break, change, or whatever you needed. We're willing to work with ya.
CAUSE: Tualatin Public Library Star Wars Day
We are a small public library and we try to provide outstanding opportunities for our community.
PARKING: Our parking lot is free and there are heaps of spaces in the surrounding area. We're next to a shopping area, so there is no shortage of parking, should our small library lot fill up.
CHANGING AND STORAGE: We have a pantry/storage room off of the community room. It is only accessible with a staff key and we can definitely lock your belongings for you. We could also store your items in our community room storage, too. I wouldn't recommend changing in there, but we can let you in prior to the event and store stuff. You are more than welcome to take tour of the area to make sure it will work for you, just send me an email!
COSTUME REQUESTS: As long as y'all are covered, we'd love anything and everything! I know I'd personally love to see both the good and bad guys. As this is an event for families, and likely to be well attended, we'll be ecstatic regardless!
PHOTOGRAPHY PERMITTED: That is something I would have to verify with management, but I think you could definitely take photos. We have photo release forms if individuals wish it.
BLASTER POLICY: I know lightsabers will be most appreciated, but I'd have to check with my manager about the blaster. We had a single parent pitch a fit when the bubble man used a neon orange watergun in his performance last summer. When in doubt, however, leave the blaster, take the lightsaber.
MEMBERS' CHILDREN IN COSTUME: Yes, children in costume are welcome to attend
OTHER DETAILS: A family event with crafts and activities to celebrate Star Wars Day! Will run for about 1.5 hours.
ANYTHING ELSE: I know you are all probably well booked for May the 4th, but I do hope you'll be able to send at least a few people. I am the Children's Librarian for grades k-5 and I usually have a program on Saturdays for my kiddos. As I was planning my May events, I noticed the 4th lands on one of MY program days. How fortuitous! I understand if this is shorter notice than you would usually prefer and I appreciate your consideration. Thanks very much!
