WHAT: Honoring a Star Wars fan Pastor on his exit
WHERE: 6701 NE Campus Way HIllsboro, OR  in Hillsboro- Orenco Station
DATE: Sunday, June 12th
TIME: 9:50am service presentation/11:50am service presentation (come for one or both)
There will be two distinct times of appearance at the same event. Volunteers can appear one or both times. Volunteers are welcome to come to the entire church service and join the presentation at the end, or they can come near the end of the services (see times above) join in the presentation of this HUGE scale model as it is being presented


CAUSE:
We are a non- profit that invests heavily into the community of homeless and displaced people through Project NEVER AGAIN
Project NEVER AGAIN- is a non-profit that brings dignity to foster children as they are forced to move from home to home. It was begun by one of our members and now has the backing of Adidas and one of the Portland Trailblazers who massively support this cause of bringing dignity to foster kids.


PARKING:
Parking is available at the North side of the building. Volunteers can enter at the north entrance. (Nearest Cornell Road)
CHANGING AND STORAGE:
We have a room we can dedicate for volunteers to store their gear and adequate changing areas
COSTUME REQUESTS: Any and all Star Wars characters are welcome
BLASTER POLICY: Blasters and lightsabers are fine.
MEMBERS' CHILDREN IN COSTUME: Yes, children in costume are welcome to attend
OTHER DETAILS: We have come into possession of an ORIGINAL large scale model of the Millenium Falcon used in actual screen sequences of the original Star Wars movie. We would like to present it to our outgoing Star Wars fan pastor as a gift. What better way to do it than to include some of the characters from the series.


ANYTHING ELSE: We are a church. Expect to be welcomed by unsuspecting parishioners

I’m wondering about how long they need us in costume if we show up at the earlier time slot?

So there are two services, and two presentation times. Does that mean the pastor is going to be presented with the same gift twice? If someone is going to be presented with an actual screen used model of the Millennium Falcon, I think Han and Chewie HAVE to be there. If Josh is in, I'm in. Sign me up as ANH Han, in whichever time slot Josh is available.

Hoping we can do a 9:50-10:30 kind of thing here and then I was going to swing over to happy valley for the toy store troop if possible and then do a noon-2 deal there. Will wait to hear back but it seems like it should work for the early window.

Thank you for checking Judy. I’m still planning on the 9:50 timeframe…..hoping they are ok with just a short suit up maybe 35-40 Minutes.

Looks like this has been updated with a 9:45 start time. I'll be there. Shannon will come as a spotter. Want to make sure we get some cool photos of this one, and we'll have an extra set of hands in case Chewie needs some help. Josh, will you need us there early to help you suit up?

9;45am in costume and yes, it should be a quick one. They know you need to be done no later than 10:30am.

If you enter the north side of the building they have a changing room for you if you prefer that over car change.

If you know your timing on arrival I can let them know so someone is there to meet you.

I just received more info.

Arrive however long you need to get ready. The presentation will take place a little after 10am and be finished by 10:15-10:20. There will be opportunities for photos with the Millennium Falcon from about 10:15 - 10:30. Or for as long as you are available. They understand you are on a timeline. Don't be afraid to say you have to go

I’ll plan on 8:45-9:00 AM arrival. Would like to use the changing room. I’ll bring a Wookiee handler as well so shouldn’t need any help suiting up.
