My Introduction - Obi Jon
« on: August 25, 2019, 05:35:01 PM »
Hello everyone!

I am very honored to be accepted into the Cloud City Garrison forums. I am very new to cosplay and I have been striving to compose my Obi Wan costume to come close to the legions standards. I would like to say I am close but in reality I could use a bit of help.

I first met the legion at the 2016 RCCC while wearing my 1st attempt with my Obi wan costume. I was pleasantly surprised, honored and amazed at the level of work and detail the legionnaires had put into thier costumes. Then to have 2 stormtroopers escort me with my light saber ablaze as if I were General Kenobi himself back to the booth/set. At that time I was urged to join but couldn't due to some unfortunate RL circumstances. Now however I am supported by my fiance who is also interested in joining and developing her own legion approved outfit. We look forward to honoring the charter of both the 501st and Kashyyyk base as participants as either spotters and costumer's.

My very last event that I attended was this year on August 24th at the Salem Oregon Movies in the Park at the riverfront park where they were attending the outdoor showing of Solo. There, dressed in my outfit, I met Darrell, Chris and Eric and one other gentleman that I could not recall his name. It was fortunate that I had appeared there and no other legion mates were in attendance as the same character lol. Chris, an admin on these forums gave me some pointers and I look forward to following up with the tips I recieved on my outfit that can be improved upon. It was very humbling and gratifying to put smiles on so many people's faces as they stepped up to take pictures with us. I look forward to doing so again in the future.

Signing out,
Obi Jon

Hi Jon. I was the Stormtrooper there. Glad you joined here, your enthusiasm was contagious and you were great with the people wanting pictures.

Hey thank you for welcoming me!  My fiance and I intend on getting generic jedi outfits so we can be more usefull in the future events. Both have a desire to develop costumes to participate as a 501st legion member as well But 1st things 1st, getting our outfits ready to be approved as a jedi 1st is our priority.  We also plan to attend the meet and greet on October 13th in Portland to see you all! We hope to see you all there.
