Hi everyone just recieved my acceptance email to the forum. I will be getting my kit soon to create my stormtrooper costume after that I can send in my application to the 501st. My name is Stuart, I`m british I moved over here to Ontario,Oregon from the United Kingdom to marry my now wife whom I met on FaceBook. I`m a full time security two lead officer at Kraft Heinz, also an ordained minister with the universal life church & a PC doctor. Been an avid star wars fan since as far back as I can remember, when I was about 6 years old they were promoting the star wars bed set, cutains, light shade etc. This was at a store in england & at the check out I saw & met Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamil, Harison ford, David Prowse all in their full star wars costumes. It was epic & hopefully I can do the same thing if accepted into the 501st. Being on the recieving end as a child I know what it is like to stand & admire the suits.

Thank you for allowing me in to the forum I checked to see which of the 501st covered Oregon & everything bought me to this point.

Welcome Stuart! As others have mentioned, please feel free to ask any and all questions and we'll do our best to answer them for you on your journey to join the 501st.

For all things Stormtrooper, the First Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment (FISD) is an amazing online resource (www.whitearmor.net) and I'd spend a good chunk of time surfing around there to get some great ideas on what you'll need to do!

Onatario is an awesome spot in Oregon, while it might be a bit of a drive to other members in CCG, the Idaho garrison (http://www.idaho501st.com/boards/) are nearby as well and may be able to help in person for you too. I made it out there two years ago for an event and they were wonderful to troop with.

Hi Guy`s.

I have a question that i`m slightly confused about as I did a lot of reading & research last night. I was reading on whitearmour.net that shepperton studios armour would require more tweaking. I then went to the shepperton design studio armour site & read that they are made by the person that did the original stormtrooper armour from ANH. I also read that he is using the original moulds that was used from the ANH movie. What I am confused about is why would that need additional work if it was moulded from the same cast that created the original armour ?

Does anyone know just to give me an idea as to if I read it correctly.

Thanks Guy`s.

SDS Armor is not listed on the FISD vetted armor list, found here:
https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/

I think it’s because Ainswirth is generally disliked in the 501st community for his claim that he created the original molds and his lawsuit against LFL over it.

It’s not one of the more accurate armors, but it can be taken to Centurion (level 3), see this forum for examples:

After a lot of searching I found a place back in my homeland of great Britain. The place is RS Propmasters pretty expensive but I found what I was looking for. Looking forward to ordering the kit from them.
