Hey All! New Rebel pilot in training
« on: March 17, 2016, 08:24:35 PM »
Hey my names John, I'm in Portland and I joined this site to help piece together my first Rebel Alliance flight suite, which I'm pretty excited about.

I'm actually trying to sell a chest box I bought from Darth Hair at DHPFX on Etsy if anyone's interested. I'd like to make my own.

So far I have:

Gloves
Orange jump suit
Washing Machine hose
Compad (unpainted)
Flak Jacket Clips

I know some members here have access to vacuforming machines, which would be so helpful with the data cylinders and a custom chest box. I'd like to see if I could actual create toggable toggle switches on it and buttons that can be pressed. That'd be so cool and authentic.

Also, if you play Battlefront on PS4 my PSN is jadonut90...I don't have any friends yet haha.

Thanks and may the force be with you!

Awesome. I'm always glad to see another pilot! :)

I'm a pilot judge in the Rebel Legion so if you have any questions feel free to ask.

If you're looking for a helmet there are a couple makers on the Rebel Legion forum that people commonly use. Regarding the code/data cylinders, some people have made them from wooden dowels and bolts or just carved them from wood, but Elvis Trooper makes some aluminum ones that are really nice. I have a set of his aluminum cylinders and belt flares and they look really good. He also makes the leg flares.

Regarding the hose, make sure it's ribbed. The hose should be ribbed and not smooth.

And I'm also on PSN with a PS4 (and a Vita, PS3). I'm  Guyzel_Dreighten on there. I'll add you when I'm on. :)

welcome to the forums John!

So you are making your own chestbox mold for vacforming?

Thanks Blue Leader. I'm pretty set on Darth Hair for the helmet, I like his product. Hose is ribbed, check. I'll look for you on PS4.

And CJ I was thinking of buying a mold and going from there

Hi John, and welcome!  I'm considering a pilot for a future costume, so I'll PM you about your chest box. :)

Welcome to the forums! I have a Darth Hair helmet and really like it, my Red Leader helmet turned out really nice.

As you work on your pilot, feel free to post pictures, we always like to see costumes progress!

I didn't know buying a mold was possible, very cool if it is.  I have a vac-table, so we'll have to see about getting together sometime and pulling some plastic!

Ah yeah, Darthhair definitely does a good helmet. I think his helmets are what most people have.
