TK2668 Back from the Dead.
« on: December 22, 2015, 02:27:50 AM »
I am on inactive status I believe as my log in on the main legion site was restricted long ago. I am the member, if anyone remembers located in Eastern WA. I was the lone member for about 5 years. Recently I saw some postings on Craig's list of a group in my area looking for members.

Since I no longer fit into my stormtrooper I need to get into a new costume. How do I know if this one is 501st Approved? See here,

http://www.anovos.com/collections/the-imperial-collection/products/star-wars-mens-imperial-officer-black-uniform-package-standard-line-pre-order

It is affordable and I think I would like to troop in something other then a tank suite like the TK. I am ready to start making events in my legion shirts for credit but I am not getting any calls from the group. I don't know if they are doing events and forgot about me or just not having any.

What do I need to do to get back in as an active member? If anyone can point me the way.

 Mike
PS, as of 2010 I am a Washington State Resident.

Hi Mike, and welcome back!

No costume is automatically approvable in the 501st. It's all about making sure it fits to you and meets the requirements defined in the CRL (costume reference library - http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CRL). That said, the general experience with Anovos has been positive, and it should be a good base to work from.

To get back to being an active member and receive credit for troops, you'll need to have an approved costume and/or make an appearance at a troop in an approved costume. If you're on Reserve status with the 501st, all you'd need to do is wear an approved costume at a troop. That will make you active again. If your 501st status is Retired, you'll need to submit a costume and have it approved by your garrison's GML team before you will be switched back to Active status. Wearing legion shirts at an event does not count for credit.

Eastern WA troops are usually handled through Garrison Titan, so you'll want to log on to their forums regularly to keep an eye out for events you might be able to attend. They will also be the ones to evaluate and approve any new costumes you make.

Hi Mike,

That looks like the imperial navy trooper (dress uniform version) --http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:IN_imperial_navy_officer , which is covered by the Imperial Officer Corps http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/ so that's going to be the best place to lurk for that outfit and advice on it.

Anovos (and many other kits) can be a long wait.  You'd also need to find boots which can also be a royal pain in the neck.

As Mindi mentioned you'll probably want to head over to Garrison Titan http://www.garrisontitan.com/theboard/viewforum.php?f=48 and say hello to them.  Not sure what part of Eastern WA you're in, but it looks like they have a branch in Spokane.

Hi Mike!

The 501st CRL lists all the detachments and each detachment has a list of approvable costumes that it covers. You can find the main list here:

http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CRL

But if you're just looking at the Imperial Officer Corps, their CRLs are here:

http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:IOC_CRL

Happy browsing!

So I think I am onto something. Is the Navy Trooper dress uniform the uniform of the stormtrooper legions when not in heavy combat?

BY the way I tried to get signed up at Titan but I must have been there before. I don't know my user name but my email is said to already be in the system. I did not see any way to contact a site admin.
