Adam wrote me a couple of years ago after I finished Ackbar. He wanted one of my masks...only other one out there. Traded me a test mold from ROTJ of one of the other calamari pilots. He is a big fan. Nice guy.

That's pretty neat. :)

I know that Adam also commissioned a Chewbacca outfit from Duck over on the Rebel Legion forum a couple years ago. Was some pretty impressive stuff.

I've always had to wonder, how the heck does he find people to buy these things from (like Duck, or, as mentioned above, Terrys)? Does he just stumble upon them through a Google search or what, or someone else tells him about these sellers, or what? :P

Dang!  8)  Now I gotta remake my DL-44. Or find the makers on RPF and save $ to buy their gear to make a new one. Thanks

For those who don't have facebook, I guess this is what Adam Savage did with that Ackbar mask ;)

It was his "incognito" costume at San Diego Comic Con this year!

yup, but being as big of a star wars nerd that he is, I wouldn't be surprised if he does a full Akbar costume

The foam head he is using is the same one he traded to me. (copy off of it) It's cool. Here is a picture of it in my mancave. I have it stashed away. Some year, I will make a mold for it like he did.

Notice how it goes wayyyy down the back....That was a key for us it was actual. Detail goes too far for anyone just repping it. Also the eyes missing as these were animated parts. Nobody would do that...or haven't ...YET.

Actually, someone in the Rebel Legion supposedly has an animated Ackbar mask. I'm not sure if the eyes move or not, but the mouth moves when they talk. I can't remember if I've seen pictures of it or not...
