I am writing to request that your group consider an appearance as a fundraiser for CASA-Voices for Children, serving Benton County and located in Corvallis. We are a non-profit organization, that is sanctioned through Federal and State Statute to be the voice for neglected and abused children within the legal system. When children become within the jurisdiction of Children’s Services, a Benton County Judge appoints a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) to advocate for the best interest of the child. CASA’s are volunteers who have gone through intensive training to ensure that the child’s needs are met and that their rights to a safe, healthy and stable home occurs in a timely manner.
CASA was started in Seattle by a judge, who believed that the children needed a voice within the legal system. Children with a CASA spend less time within the State’s custody and are less likely to re-enter the system. CASA-Voices for Children is one of only three CASA Organizations that provides a CASA Volunteer for every child within the State’s jurisdiction.
To continue to provide and support well-trained volunteers, we must rely on donations. It is for this reason that I am requesting your consideration in partnering with CASA to raise awareness and funds. Albertson’s in Corvallis would like to offer their location for an event. In addition, they would like to host a BBQ and encourage other businesses in the location to participate.
