I thought May 20 was for Disneyworld and June 4th was for Disneyland.  Awesome if they are opening it early for you guys.

I was just at Disneyland and I'm about 99% sure it opens June 4th.

All the PR has been for that date, but as a former Annual Pass holder this is the time for the "soft opening" where they work out all the kinks and train the staff.  Have fun

That is what I thought, I have a friend heading to Disneyland tonight that is going to check it out. Have fun, it looks great. A buddy of mine from Golden Gate Garrison played Boba Fett in the ride. A year and a half he has not been able to say a word about his role due to paperwork he has had to sign.

Well, back in good ol Oregon. I can't say that the whole trip was enjoyable but in a whole it wasn't bad. Let's see, Star Tours.....I was thinking they revamped the whole thing ,but in reality they only upgraded the ride itself. You still see C3P0 doing his thing. R5D4 was no longer there and they had some different droid scanning packages when you finally get in. Another droid was there scanning you with lucas comedy lines. The ride itself was much better in regards to special effects but extremely short (about 3-4 minutes long).. I guess they have over 50 storylines but I only saw the one. I was disappointed with not seeing any of the 501st there. I guess things have changed since I was part of the SCG. A buddy of mine told me that since Disneyland had their own costumes they don't call on the 501st like they use to. all in all it was a good experience and would reccomend it to others...

Thanks for the update! I have been excited for months about the 'new' Star Tours. I'd like to get down there this fall, but not sure if it will be possible. Maybe next year for sure? I'll be sure to check out the ride a dozen times or so while I'm there... a new ride experience each time would be way cool!
