Hey there everybody
« on: July 22, 2009, 10:28:08 AM »
Greetings,

My name is Colin and I am yet another that saw you in action at the Baghdad theater showing of ESB. I had no clue such an organization existed or I would have joined years ago :-) It was always a dream of mine to have a full stormtrooper uniform and being able to help out local charities is just an icing on the cake. After researching through the FISD and MEPD forums I decided I wanted to portray a sandtrooper. I've been slowly acquiring parts to the costume and know it will be a few months before I am even close to applying to the 501st. In the meantime I wanted to drop a line on here and introduce myself. I certainly look forward to meeting with everyone at some point in the future :-)

Nice to meet you, Colin. Welcome to Cloud City Garrison! We've got some pretty top-notch Sandies here in our garrison, so don't hesitate to ask for any assistance as you get your build going.

Thanks for the warm welcome, and it would be fun the make the picnic Aug 15th. Unfortunately one of the down sides to my job is I occasionally have to work weekends and looking it up that of course is the weekend I work :-( Maybe if there is another event coming up I can make it then to meet people and ask question. I will definitely be communicating with the Sandys on this board,  I am working on my helmet right now but once I move on to bigger projects I know questions will arise.

hey now and welcome,

Rob and Dave are masters of info for sandy's, so hit them up with any questions.  I am at the tail end of my sandtrooper ( I was the one without a backpack at the troop ).   I have a kit coming shortly for the backpack, and I will be more than happy to help you out with anything you need too.

Dave is in St. Helens, Rob is in Hillsboro and James and myself are in Vancouver.  if you want to hook up and get help with your build, or just hang, hit one of us up...............which reminds me that we are long overdue for an armor party

Hehe armor party may not be a bad idea. I've found enough tutorials I could probably put the armor together myself, but having a person or two that has experience would be invaluable. I have been poking around the FISD boards a little while and been talking with an armorer. Thinking I will have my suit by the end of next week. We will see once it comes if I can wait to put it together or not ;-)
