I finally saw it at Cinetopia last night, and I thought it was awesome.
[spoiler]
I think it was a fantastic idea to include Leonard Nimoy as Spock in this film.
At best I thought it might have been a cameo, but he played a major part in the
film. It was a direct connection to the original series and The Next Generation
as well.
When I first heard about Simon Pegg playing Scotty I thought "Oh no. Not
the Guy from "Shawn of The Dead," but he did great. The only part of the film
I didn't like was Scotty's little munchkin counter part character that was with
him on the ice planet. But it was on the screen for a whole 10 seconds.
I loved that they threw in there that Spock had a rough time dealing with his emotions.
I found a few things that didn't make sence: Such as
Why did Spock have Kirk thrown off the ship? The Brig would
have worked fine, until they had time to court martial him.
Also I found a few continuity errors, but nothing that detracted from the overall feel of the film.
I thought it was great and intend to see it again.
