« on: April 08, 2009, 01:56:20 AM »
According to Galatic-Voyages:

Quote
TheForce.net has an article stating that Fanboys comes to DVD on May 19th.

Driven by passion, friendship and the power of the Force, four buddies hit the road in search of a galaxy far, far away in FANBOYS ... A raucous road trip comedy fueled by heart and an untainted love of the greatest movie saga of all time, FANBOYS follows a group of Star Wars fans as they hilariously attempt the impossible. Their mad plan: to break into George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch to see Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace a full six months before its worldwide release.

Quote
The FANBOYS DVD is priced at $19.97 and comes loaded with Special Features including:

- Deleted Scenes
- Commentary with the Cast & Crew
- The Truth about Fanboys
- Star Wars Parallel
- Four Fanboys & One Fangirl
- The Choreography
- Disturbances in the Force: A Series of Webisodes

That was fast, they should have just made it straight to DVD, since it was only in like 10 cities. Can't wait to see it.

It went to more than 10 cities. They just send notifications to limited media sources. It did make it here to Portland, in fact. I saw it twice at the Living Room theatre on SW 10th and Stark.

I will definitely pick this movie up when it becomes available!

Anybody heard anything about a release for the "Heart of an Empire" DVD? I know the PAL version is already out, but when will they release the NTSC version?

I am not sure.... but that reminds me that I have a borrowed copy of it. I need to watch it and return it as soon as possible.

Can't we go to the source to get a copy?

Last I checked it was only available as PAL encoding. Great if you live in Australia. Our DVD players require NTSC encoding.

The DVD player on your computer should run it.....

No unless you have a modified ps2. If anybody owns a pal copy of it
I'll be more than happy to make you a copy that will work in any
U.S. dvd player at the cost of being able to watch it once or twice.

Public section!

No, I'm sorry but as a collective we're not going to be making any copies of any film because that's illegal and clearly not something we (collectively) should be doing.

I think I will just kick my roommate off of her computer. She has DVD player capabilities on her computer... or I guess I will just have to return the DVD to its owner and watch it over there!

Sorry I should have been a little bit more clear in my above statement.
I thought I was doing so by saying "Owns a copy..."
If you own a copy of the DVD it is completely legal to generate,
either by yourself/or having someone do it for you (as long as they don't
keep a copy)
a Region free back up for your own purposes..
