This one is called the CQB, or Close Quarter Battle helmet.  I love it that most.  I would like to get a good standard version (or make my own!) of the HALO helmet.

There is the Rogue EOB

The Hayabusa

The CQB

The EVA

The Scout

Spartan Mark IV

Spartan Mark V

Spartan Mark VI

Security

Then there is the whole world of UNSC Marine armor and then there are the ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper).

You should post pics of ODST progress... you know, whenever you get going. About how long did the whole shebang take you to do?

This one actually took a long time.  There are very few of these suits out in the world and most haven't had a lot of engineering to them.  I had to make sure, as I like to, that I could put it on by myself and that it was as functional as well as accurate.  That are lots of mods that are hidden so that I can put the armor on and still have it look right.  The calves are particularly hard because they are not clam shelled, as my others have been. They are one piece.

Anyway, this took about two months to come together.  The belt region was really tough.  That may have been my biggest challenge.  The chest is also one piece with the shoulders and back with a hinge, so the whole thing opens and closes.

The shoulders are such that there are no straps holding them.  I placed neodynium magnets from hard drives in motorcycle pads that hold the shoulders in place.  There are four magnets total.  That survived a full night of Halloween hooligans to my surprise.  I got smacked around a lot and the shoulders never moved!

Martin that costume is nothing short of awesome. I never
have been a big fan of Halo so I had no idea which costume
it is. I just knew it was something Halo related. I'd love to
have a full size Spartan helmet for display. How did you do
the visor like that?

I took two gold iridium motorcycle lenses.  The top one was placed in the open area and I traced the opening with a grease pencil, then drew the lines in I wanted to remove.  I then cut it out with a dremel.  Once cut, I put it in place with hot glue then slid that other in behind it and hot glued it in  I backed it off just a touch to allow the shadow to give it some depth.
