Lighting up for the Starlight Parade

Could anyone offer some tips as to how to light up you armor.
I got the lights just don't know if it should be under to armor to cast a glow or visible for a brighter look.
And is everyone just lighting up the chest and shoulders?
I sit easier to do it there or have it ready to go beforehand?

Rob is right.  Use clear packing tape and wrap around the outside edge.  I don't want to see the ambient glow of your sweaty undersuit.
