I’ll take lead on this one since I’m in direct contact with the organizer.

I’ll be in Barriss without makeup, since the heat will cause it to melt anyway. Chris will help with whatever, until he’s on track.

The request is for Saturday and Sunday. I’ll be there both days, all day. I’ll post additional information later.

Dash Event Directions

Directions to the event at Portland International Raceway

Directions (See map):
•Take I-5 North (coming from Portland) to exit 306B to PIR/Expo Center.
•Turn left under the freeway then turn right at stop sign towards PIR/Expo.
•Park and Ride lot will be on your right.
•Take the first left turn after the Park and Ride, towards the racetrack.
•There is immediately another left turn into the racetrack entrance. **DO NOT** use that entrance.
•Instead, go straight through the open gate; there should be an arrow sign indicating Road Racing.
•Continue along the poorly maintained road, between the two grassy fields, down to the end of the road.
•At the end, turn left into the gate and follow along the narrow dirt road.
•This road will take you to turn 8, where you will cross to the infield between race sessions.
•Sign the waiver and get your wristband from the security guard.

** Track crossings usually happen every 20 minutes. I suggest you be at the crossing between 9:30-10:00am so you have enough time to cross the track and then dress before the 11:00am start of trooping.

•Cross the track, and follow the paved road with all the other cars. You will go through another manned gate.
•Follow the road across more grassy fields, down and back up, and then into the infield area where you will see the three-story tower.
•You will also see a Red canopy w/white sides. We are currently working on where it will be placed, whether in the grass or on the pavement. We will have a fan and beverages in our canopy.
•We may have an additional canopy as shelter from the heat. We’re still working on it.

** Note: Alternatively, you can park on the outside of the track and use the pedestrian bridge. If you choose this option, call and we can give you directions.

Both Chris and I can be your contact, so if you get stuck, lost, or have questions, you can call me (Wendy) or Chris @ 971-645-1337 or 971-645-1346.

Lunch and race car rides will be provided both days to anyone participating in the troop, including spotters.

** Note: The event organizers are huge Star Wars fans and are willing to accommodate us however they can.

Website: https://cascadesportscarclub.org/thedash/

I will post the race schedule when it’s announced.

The questions regarding the canopies will be answered the Friday before the event. I will post the information when it gets it.

Great news!! We’ll have a double canopy, half of it will be separated for changing and storage. We will be setup at the base of the tower. Look for the red canopy at the bottom of the stairs. You can park anywhere in the gravel, or where you can find a spot. Do not block any trailers, please. Feel free to call be if you have questions or issues. Thank you for all you do. :)

I am just going to bring the ISB officer for Sunday.  Rather have something easy to change into.

We are going to try and be there as close to 11:30 as possible.  To get a car ride in and then greet people as they're showing up.  As races are from noon to 1:30 if I recall correctly.  I was going to get there a little early also.  Depending on when you get there, you may have to wait for a race to finish.  Usually up to 20 minutes or so.

Thank you, Wendy.  My hearing loss is showing itself on me trying to make sure I had the correct times.  Oh, does look like we get lunch if we hustle after the last car rides go out.

Sume is sort of correct. Rides start at 12:35, and we’ll be first in line. Probably get to the track at noon to accommodate the track crossing. After we get our rides we’ll suit up until 1:35ish. We were told today the cafe will close at 1:30, so I’ll inquire about lunch when we get there.
