ive had 2 reports from friends, and more some. "AWESOME" is the popular statement, "i now see why Jackson got behind this project", and "its much more story and character driven that one would expect". .............old tony

I saw it last night, and I liked it better when the film was called "Alien Nation,"
or one of the episodes of "The Outer Limits."

The Character Development was pretty good, but the plot you've seen before.
It is filmed as part documentary, and part action/sci fi. I give it a decent meh,
and its certainly worth a watch.

  I was AWESOME!  I recommend to all!  If you are fan of good cinema, great script, good story and great special effects then this is your movie.  This movie doesn't have any big names in it but it doesn't matter because, like the one thing Tony got right was that it has good character development.  To compare this movie to Alien Nation is like comparing Raiders of the Lost Ark to Alllan Quartermain and the Lost City of Gold.   Just do yourself a favor and go see this movie,  make your own opinion.

But how would you stack it against something like Cloverfield? I, personally, thought Cloverfield sucked and, while, Distric 9 does look like an awesome movie, if it is anything like Cloverfield, I will probably not like it.

Sounds like I need to hit a weekend matinee to judge for myself...

I just got home from seeing it!  It was pretty cool.  Not what I expected.  I haven't see most of the flicks Cooter mentioned, so I can't compare.  I did like it though.  It was two hours of pretty decent entertainment.

I saw the film and I thought it was a great example of what people can do if they put they're minds to something besides a remake - a great film! Yeah had some Alien nation overtones but a much better film than that one. I recommend it... 8)

I quite enjoyed it.  It shows a good example of "what would happen if" in a "third world" nation.  Otherwise, I like the documentary feel to the cinematography.  Not to mention, the alien tech thing seemed to be more realistic than other similar movies.
