EVENT TYPE: 501/RL Formal
WHAT: Star Wars: A New Hope in Concert
WHERE:
Britt Music & Arts Festival, First & Fir Streets, Jacksonville, OR in Jacksonville
DATE: Thursday, June 20th and 21st. This is two nights. I'm open to a number of ideas on how this would work
TIME:    6:00pm doors, show at 8, ending at 10:30.
Prior to the show would be ideal - I have a lot of flexibility with this and would love to hear your ideas.
PARKING:
Britt has street parking - depending on how many folks would like to attend, we may be able to provide limited reserved parking at the public library.
CHANGING AND STORAGE: We have very limited indoor space for this - let's discuss.
COSTUME REQUESTS: Probably primarily storm troopers and rebels, but we're pretty open here!
BLASTER POLICY: Blaster and lightsabers are fine.
MEMBERS' CHILDREN IN COSTUME: Yes, children in costume are welcome to attend
OTHER DETAILS:
First: I have no idea if I've done this correctly. Lucasfilm has received our request and they have to approve it. This would be an appearance at our screening of the film with our orchestra performing the soundtrack live-to-picture. UPDATE - Approval was received from Lucasfilm to proceed with the event.


ANYTHING ELSE:
Again, the big deal right now is that LucasFilm requires sign-off before we commit to this. I'm sorry I don't have clarity around that timeline - it's been an education for us!

I'm in as Cloud City Leia. Josh might tag along if that's okay? TBD on his interest/availability, but he'd be available for spotter duties should it all work out.

I'm seeing online that gates open for early entry at 5:45, and to the general public at 6, with the show starting at 8. Two hours from opening the gates to show start seems like a lot to me, and I wonder how they plan to fill the time? Or what people would normally do during then? Their answer to this might also help with coming up with ideas for them.

But ultimately I can be there whenever to whenever, as they desire. I just need to know a starting time and I need to know that before the last minute, so that I can plan with work (as I may need to ask to leave work early to give myself time to get ready).

I'm curious what their "limited indoor space" is like for changing/storage. I don't need much, but a little something would be helpful, for sure.

I will email them sometime this weekend when I have the chance and ask what you would be doing before the show starts and you can decide on how long to be in costume.

Great photos, thank you! It looked super fun! Hopefully, they will do this again and I can make it to one!

Remember to get roster photos at events, if possible. Roster photos include only our 501st and Rebel Legion members.
Take lots of pictures in general, but we like to be able to document our members at the troops as well. Thanks!
