Looking for sabers and smocks.
« on: April 13, 2009, 08:26:14 PM »
Hey folks. This will most likely look like a double post to some people.  I am putting this out to the RL and 501st folks.

I am wanting to put together a Jedi Academy Kit and and Trooper Olympics kit for people to take to any events that come up.  The idea is that all the necessary items will be included in a tub to pick up and take.

The first order of business is the Jedi Academy kit.  I would love people who can to donate the collapsible lightsabers.  If you have extras, or your kids have out grown them, or you are tied of playing with them, then now is the chance to give it a home before those evil Goodwill do-gooders do gooding with your lightsaber.  I am shooting for about 15 to 20 to have in the kit.

I am also after simple brown (or other colors I suppose) smocks to have for the kids to wear.  I would be something that is a simple slip over that can be washed easily and put on easily.  A complete kit would be:

Lightsabers -15 to 20
Smocks - 15 to 20
Instructions to do Jedi Academy

If you can donate any of these items, or even want to make the smocks, that would be some super awesomeness.  Feel free to PM me and let me know.

I can donate T'Igor's old Jedi robe (would fit a 6 yr old) and if I have any of those sabers, consider them donated! I also have an Anakin glove that is gathering dust too.

EXCELLENT IDEA!!! :D. will work on it, i give a lot of stuff for charitable causes, but most of my jedi gear is high priced. but that doesnt mean i can keep a lookout and spread the word down here :D. i might have some things for the "dark" side......old tony kenobi

That's a pretty good idea you have there Martin. Let me know when you have
a seamstress/tailor that's dedicated to the cause. I can get Jedi
cloak material pretty cheap at Joanne's, and I'll throw some in for the
cause.
