Hey all! My name is Andrew! I built myself a Scout Trooper kit through Studio Creations, and it is completed, but it is not up to code. I wanted to join the 501st due to having my heart set on the charity events, particularly in raising ALS awareness, because my dad was a victim of it. Are there 501st members in the greater beaverton/tigard/Lake Oswego Area who would be willing to contact me to get my costume up to snuff for trooping? Or is there some sort of code of honor where I can troop as long as I am constantly working on my costume to improve it? I would very much like to know and would be honored to do all that I can to get my costume up to 100% and be a part of the great 501st.

Hello Andrew! Welcome to the Cloud City boards, I'd be more then happy to lend a hand with getting your kit up and going. PM me and we can get things rolling! Do you have any pics of your kit you could post? That's a noble cause your striving for, let's make it happen!

Sorry about the multiple posts, but it wouldn't let me post all of the angles. Sadly I have no pictures of me with the boots on. What else is missing is the flak jacket which I have yet to make, as well as some bits here and there that need to be fixed up. I had no means to sew velcro, so I used a lot of adhesive velcro, which did not turn out too well for the premiere I went to. Over all, I don't think I did too badly for a first time costume.

Thank you so much! I hope I can register soon! There's still a great deal of work that needs to be done on my costume, but I at least have i built for the most part!

Welcome! It will be worth all of the work to get trooping. And such a motivation you have. You're in good hands getting help here too.

Hi Andrew! I just recently got approved for a Scout, and would be willing to help you out with your costume. I don’t live too far from Tigard/Beaverton area, so PM me your info. Between Nick and myself, we should be able to help tweek your Scout for 501st approval so you can come troop with us.
