Title: New Guy from Silverton. Sorry.
Post by: Yu-Kahn Fett on September 28, 2011, 07:39:43 PM
Big nooby noobster here. I am pretty stoked to be a part of the site. I saw the Event at Tony's and needed MOAR so I've been looking around the local MERC and Rebel Club sites. I had no clue this goes on but am excited to get to know more about it all.

Cheers,

-Jersh

Welcome! Don't worry about being new, we don't bite (usually) ;) There's lots of friendly folks here that are happy to help out if you have any questions or if you need help building something so long as you're not afraid of doing a little bit of research.

I am working on the plans for my Arctic Merc costume. I've looked at various site for templates and ideas.  I have A LOT of work to do but holy wookie cookies will it be worth it. I'm thinking Krayt Dragon tooth Tomahawks and Wampa braids in lew of Wookie braids. So many ideas !!!!!!

I look foreward to posting my progress and welcome any ideas or even criticism.

Do I need to have a costume to help out or can I 'spot' for the trooping while my costume is being worked on?

I'd like to help out where I can so how may i go about this?

Thanks for the warm welcomes!!

when you see an event you can make it to you can let us know if your available to spot till you get your character finished. It's also a great way to get to meet the members and learn more about our groups and costumes.......ol tony

SWEET!!
I'd like to start off with a younger Thrawn outfit. The Black one. I figure it's a good start and easy enough to research. I'd eventually like to get an early, pre Dxun Darth Bane going. I'm a bigger guy so I can prob pull that off.

Thanks for the warm welcome, Mr. Kenobi. I took my son to your store during the Mushu event and he has caught the comic book bug bad! We got there after the costumers had left but still had a great time stocking up on some comics.

I look foreward to meeting you guys. As I said, I'll help out where I can and will gladly re the CCG, if you'll have me of course lol.

Jersh  whenever you are ready for the Imps or the Rebels, you could have many costumes to fill in with after your Merc build. This will also allow you to have access to the Private section of Forums if you have an approved 501st or Rebel legion Costume. Welcome to Cloud City Garrison.  8)

you could always do Jango Fett, as he's taken by both the 501st and Mando Mercs ^_^ that way you cover 2 clubs with one costume ^_^

Jango! That would be a pretty detail heavy first build.

To get started with the 501st,  I'd really like to go as Early Thrawn in his Black Chiss Asscendency(sp) uniform but the problem would be with making the red eyes work.

I think I need to get an Impirial Guard set up to start trooping and to have as a back up. That is probably the most realistic and rewarding build IMO

Any ideas for a first set would be appreciated. I'm just workinging on the weapons for my merc but would like to get goingt on really taking strides to complete a costume.

An IMP guard would be great! Especially since we don't have any active guards in the garrison.

I love the Imp Guards, they're so impressive looking. Thankfully the weather here is more amenable to wearing it than the warmer states like Florida or the like. Its still worth investing in some sort of in-armor ventilation or AC unit like the Florida guards use for the indoor or summer troops, but you should be able to get by without it for the cooler months :) Looking forward to seeing your WIP threads when you get going!
