Title: an odd request

does anyone have an old school slide projector they are willing to loan out? Mom and I are trying to track one down for my dad's celebration of life, he was a photographer and most of the pictures he took are slides.

You might check the Goodwill. I see them there quite often. I donated mine years ago. Wish I could have been more help!

I have one but need to find out what box it is in. I have 7000 slides from over the years so I can;t get rid of it just yet until I convert them.  I will start looking for it.

good, because I am 10% unpacked from this summer's move and getting ready to repack that 10% to move everything into storage until next summer...

Scan them. I had to scan 2000 slides from a gallery. Makes the file digital and then you can clean up the color changes in the slides that happens over the years. Preserves them for others to see down the road. Most scanner can take slides. I have a pro scanner you can use, but I am probably a little too far south to be any good to you.

while this is what we want to do long term, we don't have the equipment to get it done right now, which is way the need for the slide projecter
