Title: Hello from the Mercs.
Post by: Drago Seron on February 05, 2009, 03:15:25 AM
I thought I would introduce myself and our group here. My name is Darrin, character name is my screen name. I'm part of the local Mandalorian Merc costuming group. I've talked to Bill quite alot and he suggested I post over here. The Mandalorian Mercs is a costume group made up of custom Mandalorians. My hope is with our group getting established here in Oregon, our group will be able to work side by side with the 501st CCG and The Rebel Legion's Kashyyk base.

I look forward to many happy outings with you fine people.

you guys don't know squat about Mandos.  Mandolorians are followers of the singer Mando.  Please, read up:

Mando or Manto (Greek: Μαντώ), born Adamantia Stamatopoulou (Greek: Αδαμαντία Σταματοπουλου), is a popular Greek singer. She was born in Piraeus on April 13 and raised in Athens by her jazz pianist father, Nikos Stamatopoulos and a classic soprano opera mother Mary Apergi. From a young age she began to develop her talent and interest in music, and was characterized as a "born musician".

Early life

At the age of four Mando could easily sing operatic arias, gospel and jazz music. Her parents, astonished by her musical capability, signed her with the National Conservatory for piano and music theory lessons. Meanwhile, she took up vocal training and dance lessons. At the age of ten, Mando began to teach herself how to play the guitar and various percussion instruments. Her dedication and passion quickly led her to compose her own melodies.

At the age of 14 along with her school work, her music, and her English and French lessons, she performed in the musical "Jesus Christ Superstar", under the direction of Mimis Plessas and Dimitris Malavetas.

She has sung for various orchestras and as a member of various jazz groups and trios, working with music in all its textures: jazz, Greek, European, American, Arabic. She has sung and composed all types of music.

Personal life

Mando has two children, a boy and a girl and her sister, Chriso Stamatopoulou, was a contestant on the "Super Idol" reality television show.

Ah, the two groups I hope to officially join when I finish moving to Oregon together at last. Currently working on my Mando, was hoping for a WonderCon debut but it looks like part of my armor is packed in California and some made it to Oregon.

Already signed up for the forum. I got to troop with mando's down at the Fiesta Bowl Parade down in Phoenix. At that point I shelved my Royal Guard project and started my Mando.
