Well Jadesfire... drag him along. We all know that it is the woman in the relationship who wields the real power. Just go ahead and use your God-given influences!

That's right... I threw my lot behind the other team. We all know what they say about kharma.... it has bitten me enough. Now maybe she will be a little more gentle with me????  Yeah, right, who am I kidding?

ok just chiming in with the "I'm bringing the food" post and so it'll be easier to count by post

and I'll take it by the absents of PM's that no one is allergic to anything that might be in spaghetti, also I've got my online DJ gig that night, and I need to know if I need to get someone to cover or is there internet access that I can make liberal use of? I have my whole set up on laptop so comp isn't an issue.

woot!

guess what?!

I can put whoever I want on air then :D
mwahahahaha

/thread highjack off now :D

edit: ok my station manager would like some interviews, pictures and possibly video. Also if anyone has any specific requests please let me know ahead of time (or bring the music) so I can get them all. I'd also like anyone who can't be there to listen in if possible. It'll be like we're all there even if we aren't :D

I think i can make this, if there is anyone in the Portland area that needs a ride i have room for an extra body (three extra if people really want to cram into the back of my pick-up :P)

I'll bring my armor, but the part i'm at is drilling metal... i have the drill and stuff, but it will probably be a noisy process and lots of metal flakes...

I am confirming that I will be at the armor party. After all I am the one who requested one. LOL

Like the last party I would like to know is this party gonna be kid friendly? I know Kyle has Tiger,
Chad has a boy, and others are packing short rounds. Are they invited too? I have a five year old
that loves starwars.

Yeah.  I'm not going to be bringing T'Igor to this one. I need a break to hang with my troops sans-kid.

So what kind of tools is everyone bringing? I need to know if I should stop at harbor freight and pick up a ghetto, lasts long enough for at least one set of clone armor, dremel. Also is somebody planing on bringing a Rivot gun and a belt sander? Also where can I get C.A. Glue and  what type of Bondo do I need???
Title: Re: Armor Party Sunday Nov 25th
Post by: Volund Starfire on November 03, 2007, 09:28:24 PM
Well, I'm bringing a set of exacto knives for detail work as well as a tube of Goop.  Not much else that I can bring at the moment as I'm just starting out.  Oh, I also have the following Krylon paints: Flat Black (Fusion), Nickel Shimmer (Fusion), and Matte and Satin finish sprays.
Title: Re: Armor Party Sunday Nov 25th
Post by: FireStorm on November 03, 2007, 10:36:16 PM
Don't use exacto knives on armor.  You want to use dremels.  Utility knives will butcher your armor, so never ever use it on plastic armor!!

Glue to be used is CA glue, cyranoacrylate.  Don't use ABS or epoxy.

Well Nick both Pepito and I are gonna be working side by side on our clones. He and I both
are sitting at the same point: armor still unpreped and in the box. So I plan on staying at the party
till one out of three things occurs.

1. My Armor  has reached a point to where I can no longer continue on it. In my mind this is where to ready to be painted.
*Is this a realistic goal at one armor party? anybody?

2. Paul gets sick of me, and says "Cooter its 2am. Its time to shut off the saw and go home."

3. The phone doesn't stop ringing with somebody asking "when are you finally coming home!!!" Notice the "!"
at this point its now a statement and not a question.

So come Nick, we'll be there for sure.....

Sounds like fun... Wish I had my Vader stuff so I could be the black sheep (or the black armor).  But hey, I'll be bringing a couple of small projects for my Officer to work on and will be ready, willing, and able to help wherever needed.  Not to mention I'm also bringing the bringer of the foodstuffs...

I know the feeling... but I don't think the mana from heaven (read Top Ramen) counts as an actual non-perishable food... It will be here long after all of the cockroaches have eaten the twinkies... then it will probably mutate and eat the cockroaches!

OK  The Chad is in. I'll be bringing my box-o-clone stuff. Where is the best place to get snaps and elastic. I check walmart like on suggestion but there snaps looked real small. and there elastic was just weird looking. I also have a package of  discs for martins dremel since I went through so many at the last party. What did i seem mentioned about canned food?

Cooter is not retarded! Notice your spelling retatrded! You need to speak English correctly, or at least be a little more clear.
You said "I got the Bondo!" Hence implying that you went and bought some....
Not "Kyle Said he we bring some." Implying that he was bringing his left overs.

Ladies and Gentlement I now translate the previous conversation for those of you who do know Bubba Gree...

"Huh? Oh Yeah Bond-o. I use em when I gets a boo boo."

For tiny nicks, it should be fine, but for anything more, it is more fragile than bondo...

Ya, it's for plugging the screw holes and a couple of minor molds on the edges of the pieces that don't fit together.  I don't need as much of the bondo as the tubs come in, so this stuff is a little better for the size of my project.  I also don't need to worry much about cracking because I'll be putting two coats of paint as well as the nickle colored weathering and the finish coats.

Oh, also, how hard would it be to get a shell in the shape of an E-11 which can hold a pistol-style RC car control?  I had a cool idea about a MSE-6 droid...

For the seam you'll probably be ok. If the seam is long, you may just want to use straight up bondo. Trust me, I've tried the Spot Glazing putty and it's not the best catch-all. But we'll have real bondo and be mixing it up for whoever needs it. If you have some backing behind your small screw holes, I'd still use bondo.

Honey, exactly how many versions of the Imperial March do you have and how many times can you play them before the station manager decided to give you a Force necktie?

Hey I just got some scout armor from Martin.  I am planning on coming to the armor party, if that is alright?  I am not part of the 501st yet but I would like to join once I get my armor put together.

I'm not of the 501st either, but Volund has some projects that he's bringing to get himself into the 501st and he'll be there.

Hesh, come on down to the armor party.... I am bringing my black scout armor as well. It will be a hoot. I've never put scout armor together, so it will be a learning process for both of us!

As a reminder I am bringing a sewing machine for my project and am totally willing to help anyone else who might new my mediocre skills! All I ask is you bring your own fabric and thread XD. I'm going to be making a pair of neck seals and if anyone else decides they like what I put together I am totally willing to help them make one or two or however many :)
Also willing to help with any hemming or sewing on any costumes that might need it!

when the pictures are ready, I know someone was going camera happy, can I get copies? My station manager would like to put some up on the pojradio site.

Its scary how much CCG has grown since OMSI. :D Though its scary to think how small CCS was about the time I came in. MY first meeting was at McMiniamins with what only 4-5 us? Dave was actually active and in charge? :P

Same goes for me in that I only see four people I know in the pics.  I too need to get out & troop more.  I went to the Light Vaders Saber gig in Ian just to see old faces & support the turnout.  I got scolded by a new guy not knowing I was CCG for playing with the lightsaber toys with Ian because I might've distracted attention from the Stormtrooper Olympics.  Trooping just hasnt been as fun since Ian outgrew his Ewok/Jawa outfits & has somewhat lost interest.  I need to buck up and troop more!
