Title: Sith = Malware
Post by: Volund Starfire on November 01, 2007, 08:13:10 AM: Wow. I just tried to access the Sith Lord Detachment website and found out that my university server has it blocked. Apparently anything with the word Sith in it contains malware... I checked with the TI department and they confirmed it. Sith, Vader, Maul, and other SW villain names are usually associated with malware and other viruses. So, when that name appears in a site description it is automatically blocked. Does anyone else have this problem or is my university just being overly paranoid?

Because GFU is a Christian university, lots of people try dropping packets into their stream to corrupt the systems. They give out laptops which are linked to the main servers. If the servers get a bug, it is passed to the laptops. They kind of have to be paranoid.

Umm....I surely hope your not bashing Christians here!!! As I am a Christian and happen to be a Sithlord as well(how ironic!!! but thats Starwars for you!) I'm sith 6899...So please tame down the Christian bashing!!! Would hate to have to use the force choke on discrimination and dont think that intolerance is needed in the 501st!!

It was not a bash but a joke. If you can't laugh at yourself and your faith, then what can you laugh at?

The comment was made as a tongue-in-cheek response to the previous posts. But we have moved on from that. We are not onto the evil advent of cold coffee... you know, that sacrilege that happens when the coffee pot is turned off or when the fresh hot coffee is sacrificed over ice... Now, it is stuff like that that makes me want to detonate an Ewok in a Starbucks!
