Howdy Friends
Tk-6226 (Retired) Here
My name is Paul, and I was really active in CCG a long time ago in a town far far away. I just moved to Grants Pass and would like to get back involved with Vader’s Finest
I have my old TK still although I recently got an Anovos Kit, as well as my old shocktrooper TC. I have a fair deal of other SW costumes as well because I am super OCD ;) Most are below Legion standard and/or unfinished
I’m not sure how many troopers are down this side of the state or if there are events down this way but I have a great shop for build/armor parties and a little guest house should anyone ever make the voyage.
So a few questions:
Are there folks/events in Southern Oregon?
How do I unretire?
Can I keep my designation?
Where can i get the cheapest pair of pants that still make my butt look great?
Cheers,
-P

Welcome back Paul!
We do have some folks down in Southern Oregon, and we do have troops that come up down there throughout the year. Not quite as busy as the valley, but still a few chances to get the armor on!
To un-retire, you'll need to get re-approved in a costume. If you have an old FX kit, the Anovos may be the best way to go. I'll let the TK experts weigh in on the latest and greatest info when it comes to that.
Your TK-ID is yours forever, so once you're re-approved you'll keep the same ID.
Those pink shorts that the sound guy in ANH had are all the rage now, check those out for some great summer fashion! :P

What Luke said. So far as TK stuff goes yeah FX is a no go. Though I have an Anovos kit and they are fine for approval they have long waits and bad customer service. Price wise if you replace your TK look into ATA or Walts trooper factory. The Anovos prices are crazy now, just under 1K. The other two I mentioned are in the $500-600 range. It also depends on your build. That's my take on it as both a Centurion approved TK and a FISD attachè.

Great thanks for the info - I’m def going to look into those pink shorts
To clarify - I have the Anovos Kit already so sounds like I just need to put it together and submit :)
Are there any TKs or armor Gurus in Southern Oregon? It’s lonely building armor by yourself

Also side note: Luke you work dental? Curious with the Lidocaine handle

Yeah the Anovos will serve you well. The CRL was recently updated, but little changed with it. Mostly clarifying that the cover strips need to be above the lower thigh ridge and a couple of other small things. I need to go look at them now.
Reach out to Alex Cobb he's a TK and down your way.

In a previous life I worked in EMS, and just picked a random cardiac drug, and Lidocaine was it. :)

Roger that, missed opportunity to be named Digitek though :P
I know Alex a little bit so I’ll def reach out to him

Hey Paul, I'm in Medford, but can't seem to get any traction on my TK build. Nobody's fault but my own, but I need to get it finished.

Come down to Iguana comics on the 30th around 11 AM in GP for an event a couple of folks will be at. Get an armor party planned.

hello paul, great to hear from you and see you back :D

Well well well. Looks like Southern Oregon is finally starting to see some life! Maybe it's time I dust off my tools and start a new kit? (Been seriously eyeing an old man Rex from Rebels.)
