Title: Plastidip/painting
Post by: Rat on May 20, 2017, 04:29:50 PM
Have any of you that bought the Anovos kit sprayed your bucket? What's the easiest way of doing it, should I completely pull it apart or just remove the eye lenses and mask it as a whole?

I didn't use any plastidip in my Anovos TK, but if I did I would use the brush-on plastidip like I did in my AT-AT helmet.  With brush-on there is no need to take apart the helmet.

I was thinking of plastidipping our Phasma helmet and possibly some of the inside of the armor. Is that common for people to do that?

Thanks again Daryl. How does the Anovos hold up with the light?

People are concerned about light, but I've never had an issue.

The only reason I did it for the AT-AT is that it's required to be black inside for Marauder (level 3).

A feed to know, then I'll hold off until I get that bucket on my head.

My Shoretrooper armor has been dipped inside, but the only reason I did was it being raw fiberglass on the inside, and I didn't want to itch for hours on end.

For TKs, it's probably a preference thing, I think most opt not to. :)

What about weight? How much weight does it add to the armor?

Never thought about that.

It's just a very thin rubber coating, I doubt it adds much if any weight.

I see, for some reason I was thinking that it being a denser liquid it may add some weight to it. I know through reading some threads on the FISD forums that some just use spray paint and I wouldn't expect that to add any.

I agree with Daryl, it's pretty minimal. Nothing noticeably more/less with it.

I suppose after all the padding, amp/mic and fans it covers most of the interior anyways right?
