Hi there, just got an Anovos Shadow trooper kit and so glad to find a Portland unit here. Read the 501st Trooper survival guide and other 501st background info such as costume guide. Also checked out some FB groups. Sent in an application via Cloud City Garrison website. Certainly like to connect with this community on where to and what to do next. As I surely like to build the kit right specially if someone has built the Anovos kit to 501st standard. Also like some local tips/recommendation on other aspects of building the costume set such as boots (since most 501st ones on the market are white), blaster, venting for the bucket etc. I live in the west Portland neighborhood just over the West hills.

Welcome Ron! The shadowtrooper build is really similar to a stormtrooper, so there's lots of great references here and on FISD (whitearmor.net) Feel free to ask questions and if we can't help you the guys and gals at FISD can too.

Welcome, I'm working on a TX as well.
Also here the Special Operations Detachment here http://www.501stspecopsdet.net is for the Shadow Troopers. The differences are minor like lense color, helmet stripes etc. but mostly the TX is same as a TK build wise.

Making progress on the Shadow Trooper build. Read 501st guideline and understands pics when ready are to be sent to GML.(following the guideline I copy and paste from 501st site below) I check our Cloud City website and did not come across contact info for GML. Would appreciate info on how to send to GML.
*Guideline*
Only submit pictures of yourself alone against a plain background (no convention photos, please).
We will need photos with your helmet/mask on and off (if applicable).
You must include full-length views of your costume from the front, back and both sides.
Be sure to take your photos with adequate lighting and at a high-resolution to help us inspect the details.
Do not wear any non-canon accessories or add ons, including jewellery, glasses, earrings, (unit patches, extra weapons, pauldrons when not part of the canon costume etc...)
If you include any weapons such as a blaster or lightsaber, please ensure that they conform to the weapons policy.
