I just got my anovos tk kit yesterday. I started on the biceps and forearms last night.

Hey David, I can't tell if your cover strips are attached already or not, but if you plan on going for Centurion approval, make sure you trim them down to be flush with the return edge. They get pretty picky about that! Will also help with your mobility.
Keep it up! :azn:

I was wondering about that. The instructions aren't very clear about it. Thank you

Before you get too deep in to the build, you should give this thread a read.
http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35086-ukswraths-anovos-tk-build/
You may need to create an account there, but you'll pretty much have to eventually. The guy that made that thread is one of the people that approves TKs for EIB and Centurion. His instructions are WAY better than the instructions ANOVOS provides.

does anybody have any advice on where or how I can mod the anovos pre built TK helmet?
-
What kinda' mods do you want to do? If you just want accuracy mods, you only have a few things to change.
1. Extend the frown to a point
2. Replace the ear screws with accurate ones
3. Replace or modify the mic tips
4. Remove some of the excess plastic around the eyes
None of these are required for 501st approval, only Centurion.
Whitearmor.net is typically your best resource for detailed tutorials. That thread I linked previously has some helmet mods detailed in it, I believe.
If you want to add electonics, padding or modify the lense mount, I can show you what I did for mine, but for the most part there is no 'right' way to do those.
-
what are the proper screws for the helmet?
-
For the sake of ease, I picked mine up here, along with a bunch of other parts. They have pretty good hand guards there too, if you're looking for them.

You can probably pick up the same kind of screws at any hardware store though.

those look like counter sunk bolts. what size are they?
-
Specifically, I couldn't tell ya. Mine are installed already and trimmed down. I don't think I've ever seen exact specifications from the original helmets. The size of the ANOVOS screws seems to be correct, but the style of screw isn't. (Yes, depending on who does your Centurion review, they do get that picky!)
Hopefully someone can jump in with more info!

you seem to be the only one who want to help and I thank you for that.

Build threads can be easily lost in the sea of event planning posts. It reduces the odds of another Stormtrooper finding this and having helpful information to share. I don't think it's necessarily a lack of people wanting to help. :azn:
I frequently go through the build threads, since I'm new and know how frustrating it can be to not have much help/direction when you need it. It may take a little extra time for other members to drop in with their input.
I do apologize for not having the experience of a veteran member though!

no need to apologize . I've seen your other thread. its nice to have some one to give advice.
