Hello!
Ackua (Tommy) and myself now have 3 unfinished kits between the 2 of us (I know, it sounds ridiculous but I had to splurge on an ATA kit because logic) and we need help! I have been researching everything on FISD for about a year now and have learned just about everything I possibly can, but one thing that can't be taught is motivation and we seem to be in a rut.
Is anyone available to attend a build party? I will gladly offer my house/living room to the cause (although if someone has a garage/basement we could infiltrate it would be preferable - especially if said basement/garage contains tools!), and provide food/beverages to all attendees.
I'd really like to have our armor ready for the premier in December, and the more help we have, the more of a chance we will have of being able to suit up for Episode 7!
P.S. I've met a few of you but this would also be a great chance to get to know some of you better :-) Might also be a good opportunity for our friend doing the documentary to see what a build party is like!
Thanks everyone, please PM me if you have any questions <3
James

What is your geographic location?
-
Might be able to do another armor party at my place. Basement, large tables, tools (some, not a lot). A Saturday in September or October might work. We could keep it a TK only party.. get a bunch of trimming done. Sound good?
-
I could come and help. :) It would he good practice for me when I get my ATA in January.
-
I would really like to get involved in this. I have been struggling with my wife's TK armor for over a year. I have watched every video that I can find, and spent a ton of time on The White Armor site, but I have reached my skill limit and need help. I already have a work space set up in the house that is big enough for 4 people to work at the same time, and have all the tools needed to finish the job. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. My days off are Sunday Monday and Tuesday. My wife would be available for fittings on Monday and Tuesday evenings.
-
Please, please, please!
I haven't had any opportunity to work on my kit yet, and I had hoped on having it finished for Rose City Comic Con.
-
I'm available most weekdays after 5 and weekends; I'm located in Northeast Portland on Killingsworth and 55th. It's kind of a tiny apartment but I have a room cleared out that's intended to be a workshop and my living room is big enough for a few people to work on stuff. I don't have many tools but from what I've seen the best tools are sandpaper and a good xacto blade for most of the big stuff. I also have a dremel if anyone wants to get adventurous lol.
I'm down to go to Jason's too, that sounds like a blast :-)

I am available on Monday and Tuesday evenings, as is the wife for fittings. I have lots of space, and all the tools needed. Still want in on this.
-
I have Sundays and Mondays off. :)

Well, I learned the hard way that slash proof gloves are a must. Straight through to the bone. I'll be out of commission for the next few weeks :-(
-
Ouch man, keep an eye out for a bacta tank to help your recovery!
-
Ouch!
-
Yikes, that must have hurt! :( It sounds like Monday evening might be a good time to get together. I will be free, whenever you guys want to plan something. I could really use some help, and am happy to help others with the pieces that I know how to make. I also have all the tools that are needed. :)
-
Wow. At least you still have a thumb! You could have needed a whole new hand like Luke.
Armor really does cost more in blood, sweat, and tears.
-
I'm still very interested in doing this. I'd like to have my armor finished before the end of the month, but I honestly have no idea what I'm doing.
-
I am still interested in doing this as well. Harry and I were talking about getting together on a Monday evening. Would that work for anyone else?
-
I would love to join. I've got nothing to build yet (waiting for Anovos), but I'd like to learn and get to know people.
-

I have Mondays off, so that actually works great.
-
Ok, well maybe we should just pick a date and do this thing! I have a work station big enough for 4 people, a dremmel, heat gun, rivet gun, industrial scissors, extra foam if people need some, industrial strength glue, everything we should need to complete a kit. Harry, do you want to pick a date?
-
Well, how soon do you want to try to make something happen?
I think I could swing October 19 or November 2.
Get a short list of names that won't overwhelm Wes's space and come up with a day that works for most.
-
October 19th works great! What should I bring, besides my kit?
-
Either day works for me, so whatever works best for the most people is fine. If you have a rotary tool, bring it. Having two of those would probably be handy for an armor party. That has been my primary tool during my build. Just so everyone knows, I live in Hillsboro by the airport, so plan accordingly. :) I have never done an armor party before. Is it traditional to provide pizza and soda? :)
-
Getting from Vancouver to Hillsboro on a weeknight is always kind of a hassle. I probably would not be able to get across town until about 6:30 or so.
I think the dinner plan depends on what you want to get done. If you want to really focus on getting kits together for a few hours, then I would encourage people to eat before coming over. You could just make it a BYOB event.
-
I am dedicated to completing this project, so if food will be a distraction, then I say we don't do it. I will have Clif bars available, if people need to munch during the build, along with plenty of bottled water. Harry, I am a night owl, so if leaving later in the evening helps you avoid some traffic, I am fine with that. Whatever works for everyone else, I am good with. :)
-
It looks like my mother-in-law is going to be coming over for a visit, and will be here on the 19th. Harry, you had mentioned that you were also available on November 2nd. Will that date work for other members?
-
Sure, Wes. I think the 2nd would be fine for me. I'm just coming to do my best to help.
-
November 2nd works, but I had been hoping to get something finished before Halloween. I may have to move forward on my own.
-
I'm going to start on my bucket next week, so hopefully it'll be finished by November 2nd so I can focus on the armor. Excited :)
-
Do you guys have room for another? If not, I understand.
I've met Harry and I'd love to meet the rest of you guys, if we haven't met already. I've spotted at several events in the last 6 months.
I got an Anovos on order and I'm eager to learn everything I can about armor building.
-
Yes, there will be room! As far as I know, we have three builders that will be doing this thing. I have room for 4, and probably another two or three observers. :)
-
Awesome.
I'll also be coming from the Vancouver area (Battle Ground).
Would you mind sending me your address? Thanks.
-
Address for the build party is:
1533 NE Thomas St. Hillsboro, Oregon, 97124
The best way to get here is to take Highway 26 West, and get off at the Brookwood exit. Take a right, and then another right once you reach Evergreen. Take a left on 15th, and we are the green house on the corner of 15th and Thomas. Ecto-1 will be in the driveway. :)
I will be expecting guests to start showing up around 6:30 PM. My wife and I both work graveyard, so you guys will be welcome to stay as long as you like. I will have the work area ready to go, with a rotary tool, heat gun, power drill, and plenty of clamps. The only glue I use is Loctite, and has a 24-hour cure time, so if you guys want something that will dry fast, you'll need to bring it with you. Another rotary tool might also come in handy.
-
Awesome! Looking forward to seeing everyone. Should we get a list going of everyone who's coming?
-
So far, it looks like it's going to be Thomas, Daryl Doak, Harry, and myself. :) Keep in mind that I only have one of everything as far as tools(dremel, heat gun, rivot gun, power drill, industrial scissors, etc.) Another dremel would probably be helpful, along with safety glasses.
-
I can bring another Dremel and one toolbox with some helpful stuff.
-
That would be awesome, thanks Harry! :)
-
I'm running a little bit behind because I'm trying to finish some work stuff. I will get on my way as soon as I can. I hope I can be there by around 7.
I'll see you soon!
-
Had a great time last night hanging out and getting you know you guys. Got me really excited for my kit to arrive so I have something to build. :D
Thanks for having us over, Wes.
-
Thank you for hosting, Wes.
I hope you made some progress.
-
I'm going to the hobby shop after work, hopefully they have what I need. Otherwise I'll have to drive 20 minutes to home depot.
-
Thanks for coming over guys, it was a good time! Glad I can finally start making progress again on the wifey's armor! Harry, thank you SO much for your help! :)
-
Thomas,
You might have already seen this, but I found this TK supply list on FISD. It includes the paint colors we were talking about.
