This is one of the biggest troops we do all year. If you are thinking of wanting to get more involved or meeting some of our members this is a great opportunity.
WHAT: Starlight Parade
WHERE: Meet in the park blocks at the corner of Park and Couch. This is where we will hang out leading up to the event.
DATE: Saturday, May 30
TIMES: Streets close early, so we suggest you arrive before 5:00 p.m. or maybe even 4:00 p.m. We'll set up shop in the Park blocks to hang out until it's time to get suited up. The parade does not begin until it's dark out (scheduled start is 8:30). We'll get in costume well ahead of when we start marching, so expect a good chunk of time standing around in costume before we start marching. It will be a long, fun evening!
CAUSE: Group PR, for fun!
PARKING: Parking in the pay lot costs about $5. We normally park in the lot at the NW corner of Couch and Broadway. See pictures below. Other lots/garages may also be available.

OTHER DETAILS
All parade participants must be at least 12 years old.
The parade route is about 2.25 miles long. Pace is a relatively fast walk.
Water will be available before and after the parade, but we should try to limit drinking water while on the parade route.
Food is not readily available near our staging area. Bring food with you and be sure to eat it so you have energy to complete the parade route.
We'll post as soon as we have details about our placement in the parade (our order #).

I am also new to the group. Would love to help spot if I can. I work graveyard and a bit of an odd schedule. So if I can would love to be there and meet some people. I'm still gathering info on what direction I want to go with my armor. Oh man! I just checked the date and its my crazy day. 19.5 hr. day crazy. Well there will be other chances. :(

No need to bring anything other than what you want for yourself and some comfy walking shoes. I look forward to meeting you then and thank you for helping out.

Okay now upon rereading this I need to double check the day. Is this Saturday or Sunday? Perhaps I just misread when I looked up the date. If this is Saturday I am more than able to help if it is still needed.

Ok is there still room or need for more spotters? When I originally posted I mistakenly thought the date was on a Sunday a day that I am not available. I'm waiting for the big brown box and looking to be more involved prior to starting my build.

Hey! I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I think I'd be interested in spotting! What's the social atmosphere at these events? I really want to go, but I don't want to feel excluded because I'm new and don't have my bucket yet.

Great! We look forward to meeting you both. The atmosphere is friendly and I don't think you'll have to worry about feeling excluded. Just introduce yourself to people and join in the conversation!

The pleasure was all ours I'm sure! I personally had a blast. I had kind of a general idea of how everything would go but now I'm really happy to have a better idea of what trooping is all about. There were SO many people! The aura that's created when everyone is in character blew my mind, I really enjoyed the interaction with the crowd and the theatrical aspect of it all. Couldn't keep a stupid grin off my face the entire night. It was great meeting all of you too, every person that I talked with was down to earth and friendly (and I regret that my memory is terrible, I'll probably just have to start giving everyone nicknames). I can't wait to troop with you guys, my big brown box can't come soon enough!
