Would like to spot for this one (if my costume is still not completed) but I am not sure I will be able to make it by 5:30pm as I'm off work at 5pm. Will see what I can do.
-
GREAT!! I'll put you down.
-
I will have a spotter coming with me. Her name is Hayley.
-
Thanks, Cam. I'll add her to the list.
-
Thanks for adding me as a spotter Missy!

I am going to try hard to get up from Eugene that day, combining (hopefully) picking up my tie pilot flight suit and hat from Aysel and I'll have all the rest of my Reserve Pilot gear with me. If it doesn't pass inspection (unlikely, as I got most of it from TerryS, fellow TI here in Eugene), I'll get back in civvies and help spot. If it does pass, I'll still help spotting, as it will be my first time. I have read and understood the spotter and trooper responsibilities and duties document. So, put me down as tentative, I'll know for sure by Monday evening, the 24th.

Will do!

I can make it! I've read everything I can find, and I'm ready to come help for the first time. :D I don't have any garb anywhere near ready, so I'll be in a plain black t-shirt.
Only question -- is there a more specific meetup place at the Moda Center?
Last time I was at a hockey game it was 1991 new years eve and I was hit in the arm with a hockey puck while wearing a rayon shirt (because vanilla ice). Maybe I deserved it back then, but I plan on staying low and behind cover this time...

Cob,
We have been directed to the loading dock; there is, pay, parking spaces in the area. Tell the guard that you are with Cloud City Garrison; for the Winterhawks Mascot night. They, the Winterhawks, want the mascots in the dressing room by 5:30pm. Would that be an agreeable time for spotters to be there; as well? The docks are at the West end of the Moda Center; between the center and the Memorial Coliseum.

Based on the requirements of the WinterHawks, I will be unable to attend. I live in Eugene, and I thought that getting off at 4 PM I could be kinda close, but unless there is some flexibility in arrival time There's no chance. Once my RP is approved and I'm cleared for admission to the garrison, I'll have more access to the calendar and can be available for events. Turns out I forgot and I don't get out until 5 PM Friday anyway. I was looking forward to meeting more of the garrison.

I'm sorry to hear you won't be able to make. :(

Looks like the loading dock is at the end of N. Drexler Drive (off N. Interstate Ave.); The closest parking to this is at the Annex Lot on the right side of Drexler. Parking in the Annex Lot and other various garages appears to be some amount between $8 and $15.

Update:
Patrick has sent me a new email see below and go here (http://i596.photobucket.com/albums/tt47/Hoot34/CCG%20Troops/RQParkingMap_zps7ad48528.jpg)for the map. The roster has been sent.
Hello all,
Here is the latest concerning this Friday's Mascot Night for the Portland Winterhawks. I need the names of all costumed characters and any helpers. Final instructions for parking and entering are below including a map. "Your entrance will be the Loading Dock of the Moda Center on Drexler Drive, and parking will be in the Garden Garage which is to the left of the Loading Dock.
Once you park, you will return to the Loading Dock entrance on the ground level and then there will be an intern at the loading bay that will check you in and direct you to Locker Room D." OK, that's it for now. And probably it until Friday. I will need those confirmed names ASAP!
Thanks.

Thanks for the update Hoot. Terrified, but looking forward to it. :D
If they need real names, I also frequently go by "Josh Hughes" :-)

Cob,
Thank you.

The following question was asked:
are we to assume parking is free?
My answer:
From past experience no you will have to pay. I would suggest carpooling.
-
Unfortunately I will not be able to make it tonight, as my plans have chnaged. I hope you all have a great time tonight!
-
Since Jay cannot make it, I have made arrangements to get off work early and make it up in time to help! I'll tell 'em I'm Jay, or meet up with some of you by the entrance so I can find out Jay's last name. That might be cool. If you wish, please feel free to call me at 541-228-1900 as I travel up from Eugene to give me further advice.

There is no need to lie. When you get here just tell them your are with Cloud City Garrison and you are here for the Mascot Night. IF they press the issue tell hem that you are a spotter.

Despite the rocky start, for some of the costumers, great work spotters.
-
I had a blast, so glad I made the drive. Thanks to Christy for taking what I hope are good enough submission photos to get me approved. They gave us our own locker room, Go "Imperial Army"!! I took a photo of the sign they out on the door, I'll get it posted soon. If anyone has a group photo from the spotters, I'd love a copy.

Well.... that was an absolute blast.
Got there just about on time, and the event staff told me that Mel was in charge. :-) The Imperial Army locker room was empty and a neighboring person told me to check room D where I found a bunch of folks.
We get into a cargo elevator and ride up to the main concourse just as people are starting to stream into the arena. The doors open and there's a shitload of girls dressed up like cheerleaders standing there and they see the wookie and just go completely nuts... He probably made it 15 feet from the elevator.
What a mess, my face hurt from all the smiling after the first hour. Can't wait to spot some more events while I slowly chip away at my costume project. Thanks for letting us n00bs tag along. :-D
Cheers!

All,
Thank you to all who joined in on the blow out game for the Winterhawks! Fun as usual and many happy and appreciative fans that took boatloads of photos. The Winterhawks staff and accomodations were first rate as always . . . how about that cooling fan in the locker room?!?!?!? WONDERFUL!!! I hope to see you again next year or into the playoffs this year if possible, thanks again!
