Title: Hello from a long-time Imperial pilot looking to get a Tie pilot costume
Post by: Dax Corrin on January 21, 2014, 12:56:12 PM
Hello, My name is Greg Miller, also known as Dax Corrin. I have been a part of Star Wars since ANH came out in 1977, first as a lover of the original trilogy and then as a pilot, part if the Emperor's Hammer clan in which we fly Tie fighter, X-Wing vs Tie Fighter and X-Wing Alliance PC games.
Now, I am looking to put together a 501st-approved Tie pilot costume and joining the 501st Cloud City garrison, representing from Eugene, Oregon.
Please contact me with information on whom to connect with to get this started. My 15 year old daughter is into cosplay and I'll be attending Kumori-Con this August with her, and would like more than one costume to attend in.

Thanks for your time, hope to hear from Costume builders soon.

Hi Greg,

Welcome to the forums!

You might start working on your TIE Pilot by checking out http://www.jrsdetachment501st.org/academy.html (http://www.jrsdetachment501st.org/academy.html)

You can sign up for the Jolly Roger Squadron detachment and find all the information you need about your costume.

We definitely have members in the Eugene area.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

OK, I got myself registered on the Jolly Rogers forum site, already got my 2 posts in, and I'll be assigned a mentor shortly to get started with the costume build. I'm pretty geeked out about this, and will there be a presence at the con this weekend, and if so, where and what time? I'd like to get to know some of the folks in the garrison.

Open to close, all three days of the con. Booth 106 and 108 (next to each other, someone please correct me if those are wrong).

See you there!

I've been busy! Met TerryS, and he had some goodies for me, boots and gloves, and cogs for my flight suit! Katie is done with my hat, and making the mods to my flight suit. I will receive my commpad today, have my belt, so once the boots come back from the boot shop after a little stretch and hat and suit come back, I'll be submitting my Reserve Pilot photos for approval!!
Looking forward to trooping with all of you soon!

Maybe I can come up to WinterHawks night as Reserve pilot depending on receipt of flight suit and approval status.
