Title: Fresh out of the academy

Hello all,

While I have made some of my own Halloween costumes/masks I'm still new to the whole costuming thing. I have never considered myself very artistic, but I took a great deal of pride and joy from the mask I made as part of an Anbu Black Op ish costume and would like to try my hand at making a Heavy Weapons Trooper

and/ or an Imperial Officer

Surfing the 'net I found MANY resources online for costuming (like 1 X 10^9 ) and not finding any definitive way to go about it I thought to seek out the 501st.

Digging through your forums I found that joining as a spotter was my best way out of the frying pan and into the fire. I'll start there, but any suggestions/help/whitty criticisms would mean a lot to me.

suggestions-come out and spot events, ask questions about building your costume on this forum as well as the forums for the costume you want to build (they are listed on the crls you gave), take your time with the build, post wip pictures, and have fun.
