Title: No more Clone Wars

It would seem Disney has plans for the Clone Wars that does not include the Clone Wars.

I just saw that story! They better let us know what happens to Ahsoka, or maybe work it out so she is in the new movies

we've known that TCW had a finite shelf life, and we've been getting closer and closer to Episode 3. They'll probably be leading the next story lines into Episode 3. I'm interested in seeing what the new animations they hinted at will cover.

Honestly, I'm starting to get a tad worried. What exactly is going to happen with Star Wars between now and the new movies? With the Clone Wars gone there is no more Star Wars on television, and from the sound of it it sounds like LucasFilms doesn't really have plans for another Star Wars television series. So what's going to happen? Comic books can only keep people interested for so long, and that's not enough, anyway. If there isn't any Star Wars on TV and no new movies for a few more years, and not to mention no new video games for a few years, what's going to happen? What is going to keep people interested and the series alive in the hearts of its fans?

It seems like they're planning to release the last few episodes of Clone Wars online, or perhaps as DVD/Blu-ray extras... Or maybe as a TV special... But that isn't enough to tide people over for two or three years.

I really hope that LucasFilms has some things planned to keep interest going until the new movies come out, but from the sound of it they don't have anything in mind quite yet, at least not to the scale we've seen the past few years. It worries me a bit. The passion for Star Wars wont continue if there's no Star Wars to be found.

Granted, I'm glad to hear that Detours has been pushed back, that sounded like the last thing Star Wars needed and probably would have done more harm than good. But c'mon, we need something...

Maybe I'm getting worked-up over nothing but... I don't know...

You obviously do not remember the years between 1983 and Heir to the Empire.

You don't have anything to worry about.

Yeah.... and there wasn't much going on in between each of the prequels.

I like to refer to the time between the original trilogy and the new trilogy as "The Dark Times". For years there was nothing new Star Wars. And if I want to watch one of the movies I had to watch it on VHS!!!! That's back before we knew biker scouts wore vests.

What I think is dumb is that Disney decided to shelve Star Wars 1313. That game had some serious potential and a whole lot of people were stoked about it.

From what I understand-- and I could be wrong-- is that 1313 is still supposed to come out, but not until closer to the new movies so it can be tied in... somehow. I've also heard that they're waiting for the PS4 to launch this holiday, though that one seems less likely to be the primary reason.
Personally, I wish they would have just forgotten about the movie tie-in and launched the game sooner... My PS3 is getting mighty lonely without a Star Wars game to play on it.
