Title: Space: The Neon Frontier
Post by: Jabbasdead on February 18, 2012, 11:53:26 AM
Dear Legion,

Thanks so much for considering our totally last minute request for your presence at SPACE: THE NEON FRONTIER.
This is a 16+ dance party that runs from 8:30 to 6 a.m at Bamboo Grove (134 SE Taylor Portland, OR 97214). It's a sci-fi themed party, and the kids would just love, love, love it if you were to make an appearance! I'm on the stage from 11:30 to 12:30, and if two of you were there on stage as "guards" during my set, it would be amazing!

There is NO BOOZE AT ALL at this party. We don't have it around the kids. They're on their own if they wanna be that way. We're encouraging community, connection, and family.

I'm a 40-year-old woman with no children. I chose to not have my own kids, because I want to help all those that just don't have the support they need. In addition, I'm 137 days sober. Being a role model is important. Showing them that they can have fun without all that other stuff is key.

I know the kids won't mess with you at all. Plus, we have professional, card carrying security on site, in the event that there is trouble. The event is fully permitted, and the venue owner is on site.

For any questions, please feel free to call me. I probably won't answer, because we're setting up. But I'll be checking my phone, and will get back to you.

If you do come, just ask for BOMB SHEL. They'll know where to send you.

Thank you so much for even considering this!

Be Well,
Bomb Shel

Would have been fun to do!  I just wish she had given us more notice.  I enjoy driving up to PDX for troops and fun days but I REALLY need more notice to re-budget my monthly gas allotment.  If she is organizing another one in the future I would totally do it... with advanced notice!  Sounds like a neat lady  :D

we already mentioned to her the late notice would not work. Also The 501st legion told her the same thing.
