Title: How do you become a spotter?
Post by: vader_girl on November 05, 2011, 11:55:46 AM
Hi all.  I'm interested in possibly becoming a member, but I would like to start out as a spotter while I am putting together my Imperial Officer's Uniform.  What's the best way for me to do this?  I live just outside of Portland, so I'm most interested in activities in the Portland Metro area.

Well hello and welcome from Kashyyyk Base Rebel Legion "vader_girl", were the "good guys". Most of us here have costumes for both groups.   To help with spotting just keep your eyes on our "upcoming events", and volunteer when you see one you wish to attend. I would HIGHLY suggest coming to the Portland Comic Book Show, it's one of our biggest troops of the year. You can meet a lot of the members and learn a LOT more about our groups and costumes.........Old Tony Kenobi

Well you just did it!  Congratulations!    There is an event thread and just let us know which one you would like to help at. You have made the biggest step in deciding your 1st costume!  Look forwarding to meeting you!  Welcome!

Welcome to the boards, keep an eye out via our calendar for our public events. Most events we can use a spotter.

Welcome to the forums. If you look in the Public announcement of Events thread. You will see where we will be at. Even if you don't spot; just come out and say hello. Most of the time we do get enough spotters to help with larger events.

Welcome my friend!
Spotters assist the "costumes" by helping them dress up and then watch over them when they are out on set. We also help organize people wanting to take pictures so it goes smoothly for both our people and the public. We ask that you wear a badge (provided) to indicate you are with us and not just another civilian. I look forward to meeting you.

Welcome to the forum. It is good that you are checking out the group as a spotter. It gives you a really good idea of how the public interacts with the groups as well as meeting everyone.

It is a very appreciated task.
