Hi all,
What is the Pig Bowl many may ask? It is: Oregon police (State, county, city) vs Washington police (State, county, city), in The Dalles area, in a game of football for charity. Each year the organization picks a local person they believe needs help; mainly for medical purposes.
The game is flag football and the scoring is.... unique. Along with the regular, football, points for every $X in donations, to a team of their choice, the team earns an extra "goal". These extra "scores" usually reach in the 7 or 8 hundreds.
So the event is on September 24th at 7pm. It will be taking place on Wahtonka Football Field at the local High school; I believe. Every year they have given us a place to change; last year it was a room at a local hotel.

Hey all!
We are really excited again this year to have CCG and other groups come down and help us out. I'm your contact person at the event. I have been talking to "Hoot" and "Jabbasdead" about making things better for groups to come join us on such a great event. I like to showcase the people that come down and really have some fun. I think in the past I have made that clear but maybe that has not been conveyed to everyone. I consider those that attend my special guests and I will try and cater to you as much as I can. I realize that you are coming to my event of your own free will and are spending money and time to do this. I can only assume that you are like me in that you like helping people and this is a way to do just that. Don't tell me that you didn't get a kick out of the look on child's face when his/her eyes lit up when they saw you.
We have a great event and we aim to keep it that way. I'm hoping that as time goes by all of you at CCG will pass the word along about us and that we have an open invite to ALL costuming groups. CCG, Titan, Kashyyyk base, Ghostbusters, Babylon 5, GI Joe, BSG, or whatever, ALL are welcome, I cannot stress that enough.
In the past numbers have been low but have been much appreciated, If there is anything I can do to help to get more of you to come down to The Dalles, please let me know. Anyone can send me a PM or message on the board about questions or ideas.
Once I know a true number I will be working on getting a few rooms for all of you. I see I have 4 now and that is great.

For those that have never attended or trooped the Pig Bowl. This is a GREAT event, and they really make you feel welcomed. I highly encourage anyone that can make it to do so, its for a great cause.

A question where will the changing room be this year? The hotel, the school, or X*?

People,
Two things:
1) Unless Curt, our contact for this event, says otherwise lets meet here (http://mapq.st/pQAvaz) at Wahtonka High School.
2) Is there anyone else that will need lodging? We, Curt and I, need to know now.

Working on lodging and change location. I kind of like getting you guys to the hotel and then transporting you to the event but we will see.

Go to school, we will use the locker rooms this year and we can secure them after all of the changing is done.

Mission Status: Compleated
First I want to thank Curt for, the fourth year in a row, allowing the Garrison to attend this great event. I also want to thank him for allowing me to expand, group wise, beyond just the Oregon Garrison/ Base. Also I want to thank those troopers who, were able to, make it to this event; your help was greatly appreciated.
For those that weren’t able to make it; there is always next year. Also Curt, and I, have already been talking about some of the reasons you were not able to participate; so we have them taken care of before next year’s event.

Well, another year has come and gone. Thanks to Hoot for coming down and supporting us and thanks to the Mandos from Oregon. You guys all rocked. My son had a total blast with you guys and thnaks for treating him so well. He has been already talking about next year and is thinking Tusken Raider. My daughter is thinking Sith or Jedi for next year. For those that were hoping for a room and me not coming through with that, I apologize. I'm disappointed I could not make that work. Next year will be better. So for the truly good news.
CCG helped raise $19,454.59 for our family!
