I've been playing with the idea of making a Maul costume till I can afford to start my biker scout.
I figure every garrison needs an angry red faced guy with no dental coverage.

Hate to break it to you, but you are better off doing a biker scout if $$ is an issue for you. A 501st worthy Maul will cost you more than you would think. and I mention " 501st worthy" because I know we have had to turn a guy away from some events because the quality wasn't quite up to par with the standards of our events.
Not trying to discourage you,,,,,,,, just saving you future grief maybe?

Greedo is right, a Darth Maul can be just as expensive if you add the boots, gloves, leather soft parts, and lightsaber. I just don't want this to set your Biker Scout project back any if its what you are really saving up for. :D

Wow, those parts really add up that much?

Yeah. From what I understand. A nearly completed Maul(minus lightsaber and outer robe), just sold for $600 on the Legion boards.

And a completed one just sold for $1100

You're kidding! Ridiculous! I guess if someone buys it you can't say it was to much!
-
Well, Lightsaber, belt, gloves, boots, horns... The rest is cloth, right?
Hardly seems like it's worth $1100 even if it is movie quality.

I can put you in touch with Anthony that does Maul for the Golden Gate Garrison in San Francisco. He has done a couple of events for LFL and can give you the in's and out's of the Maul.

Really? I doubt they had the correct boots at that price. The Titan motorcycle boots,
The movie correct Maul ones, I've seen go for 500 dollars by themselves.

And that pushes the total past what I paid for my first car.
On a side note, I picked up some materials to build the belt for my Kyle Katarn costume.
