I requested and received permission to TB 1.5 for the month of December this year, so it is my goal to get him to all our bell ringing and toy drives this year. One of the big things with the Dodger project is getting pictures of him at local sites and events. As you know I am not from Oregon :o, that being said I am not as familiar with Oregons Landmarks. I grew up with Golden Gate bridge, El Capitan and Disneyland so if you can suggest a few places around here besides Mt. Hood I would appreciate it. On a side note I am working on a "Santa Scout" version of TB 1.5 once I secure another 12" Scout, I know a little geeky but hey there is an Elvis Trooper what can I say.

I'd love to help you when the time comes, Ralph!

A couple of places I was thinking:
The Conde. D. McCullough Bridge
Chimney Rock
Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach
Crater Lake
Pioneer Courthouse
Fort Rock Cave

I would totally see if Fort Astoria (http://www.oldoregon.com/visitor-info/fort-astoria) would let you do pics. That'd be pretty neat.
Here in Portland Rocky Butte would be a decent idea.

most of the pictures I have seen lately are from cons with celebrities. I think we can do better :)

Can you get Mt. Bachelor in the background for some shots? Maybe get to the Lava fields? Just trying to think of something local for you.

I plan on going back to Crater lake and doing one of those perspective shots where I focus on him with CL in the background, same for Mt. Hood and that Bridge I saw. Most pictures I saw of Dodger were him in from of an actor. When her went around 3 years ago there were pretty cool scenic shots, you knew where he was at the time by the background.

Multnomah Falls always makes a nice backdrop. Also, don't forget we cover SW Washington, so we could include Mt St. Helens. And out east a bit on the WA side of the river, there's a full-size Stonehenge replica built as a WWII Memorial.
December, eh? Now I have a target for completion of my TB!

Billy, you need to get yours done before CV!
I would like to visit Mt. St. Helens again, but I don't know about December.

Hey if you get out to the beach try to get a lighthouse shot, Yaquina Head is the tallest Oregon lighthouse and Cape Disappointment (in Washington) is the only west coast lighthouse with a day signal, it has a stripe. You could also go to the Valley of the Giants for some beautiful old growth shots.

Now that it looks like I am staying in Oregon for a while I do plan to begin traveling again with the camera. I seemed to have lost all my photographes of the California lighthouses, so yeah definately interested in that.
