For those going here is what the website posted......
Weapons Policy
For the safety of all convention attendees, volunteers, guests, and staff, there are restrictions on what can be bought, sold, and brought into Star Wars Celebration. Failure to follow this policy may result in your removal from the convention without refund.
The following items are forbidden at Star Wars Celebration:
Functional firearms (including air soft guns, BB guns, cap guns, paintball guns, and pellet guns).
Functional projectile weapons (including blow guns, crossbows, long bows, silly string, slingshots, water balloons, and water guns).
Metal-bladed weapons (including axes, daggers, hatchets, knives, kunai, shuriken, swords, sword canes, and switch blades).
Explosives (including firecrackers and fireworks).
Chemical weapons (including mace and pepper spray).
Blunt weapons (including brass knuckles, clubs, and nunchaku).
Hard replica weapons (including most made of metal, fiberglass, and glass).
Whips.
Replica weapons will be allowed, providing that they are made of cardboard, foam, wood, or other lightweight materials. Replica firearms are allowed only if they cannot be mistaken for real weapons. The barrel of all replica firearms must be covered with a brightly-colored cap. Replica bows will be allowed providing all arrows have soft tips.
Basically, use common sense. If you bring a replica that could maim, damage, or cause serious bodily harm, we're going to take issue. But if you come to Star Wars Celebration to have a good time, and your authentic-looking Geonosian electrostaff doesn't actually fry Jedi, we'll welcome you to the show.

yup read that already...it's seems reasonable and better than some we've had to deal with

Pretty much the standard prop policy for cons these days.
-
rules, rules, rules. But it's for everyone's safety .
-
this was more for people that had not been to a big Con yet.
