yeah, BIG news Ralph. Dont really know how I feel about this yet :?. I do know I dont like already massive companies becoming even bigger. It never seems to be a good thing for the fan or the consumer, especially when they are as GREEDY as the Disney juggernaut. I just wish I had every penny invested in Marvel stock at the time of the sale :P................old tony kenobi

I don't know how I feel about this...I have the same concerns that Tony voiced about it. I read the article and the focus for Disney in picking up Marvel entertainment was the young boy audience (according to the article) but I would say the demographics of the main consumers for what Marvel Entertainment puts out are the 18-34ish demographic (or possibly older)...I noticed on the side that they had today's stock for both dis and mvl and and dis is still down. If Disney had decided to do this years earlier (think about the time that Warner Brothers bought DC) then I don't think I'd have as much as an issue with this as I do now since Disney owns SOOO much more now than they did, lets say 20 years ago. Maybe the antitrust investigation will prove that they can't do it.... :?

so I wonder if we will be seeing theme park rides in regards to the Marvel brand at Disneyland/world?

That wouldn't surprise me in the least, but I'm sure it'll be in one of their "other" parks (like Hollywood Studios) located somewhere under the Disney umbrella. The Marvel franchise doesn't worry me so much.... not if they had bought DC, I think there would be some real problems. :D

well DC is owned by Warner Brothers....wait...who is Warner Brothers owned by? or are they owned by themselves?

Isn't it AOL? I always hear it referred to as "AOL Time Warner"...

That aspect should prove very interesting. When I lived in Florida, my favorite rides at Universal's Island of Adventure were the Hulk Rollercoaster and the Spiderman Ride! Now Disney owns the characters?
