The Komen Race for the Cure is a charity event to help raise money for breast cancer.

When: Sunday, September 20th

Where: Waterfront Park, Portland, Ore

What: we are doing a 5k untimed walk

Fee: $25 online or mailed in, or $35 day of the race. (Kids under 5 are free). Your entry fee gets you into the race, a t-shirt and a commenurative pin.

How do I sign up? Go to www.komenoregon.org and click on the join a team. I, Rick Hebb, am listed as team captain and Team Star Wars is our name. We need 10 troopers to make a team. A team member can be an adult or a child.

We need to have all team members sign up by August 31st. So lets go troopers!

Eric, Bill and I did this last year in costume and had a blast. The people walking with us went nuts over us being there and said that it made a great event even better . You do not have to do this in a costume, but you will have lots of fans if you do!

Hope you can make it and I will add more info later.

This will be a great event for us. Please sign up and lets make Team Star Wars a Success. deadline is nearing gang..

If you guys are welcoming non-members I would love to join in, but of course would not expect that. Either way, I would like to do this, and will try and get some friends to join in (outside of CCG of course :) ) Thank you for heads up!

I tried, too. I even registered and made my donation thinking I needed to do that before I could join, but there's no link. Not sure what that means, since I was still able to register for the race...
