If you need a ride or want to carpool, speak up.
If you don't/can't bring something we could use money to cover the cost of the site. $75 is what park charged. Don't feel that you don't want to come if you can't afford it, I am not sweating it I just want people to show and nobody needs to know that each donation covered what.
Last thing, I don't know ANYONE here really so please spread the word for me to the rebel legion, Oregon fanforce, even the Garrison Titan folks that want to drive down.I think all 3 of the Mando's have been contacted . This is a gathering of Starwars fans and friends of CCG.

most of this was on the other thread, with a few additions and updates;
we have 6 picnic tables (5 in the covered area), a bbq pit with a metal grill (David volunteered to grill), 2 fire pits, a kitchen/sink/clean up area, power
outlets, a drinking fountain and kids playground. there are some trails, and easy river access, some people swim there. i would encourage everyone to bring extra chairs. its a dog friendly park, ("legally" on leash), with huge open fields for frisbee, football and even hitting/driving golf balls (it is pretty secluded and unused except for the river area, even though it is very close to town). and i am going to dig a new horseshoe pit, and set up a temp driving range. :D. i will also post some markers to follow. i reserved it from 10:00 am-sunset (9:00ish).
i will also bring a couple footballs, frisbee, folding chairs, buckets, paper towels, dish soap, SOME briquettes, grilling tools and STORMTROOPER FLAG
in the following map, we are right in the clump of trees in the middle.

in the following map, you take the Keizer exit,(260A), from I-5 and head W(Right) on Lockhaven til the end (past my shop, TONYS KINGDOM OF COMICS- you can stop and ask directions if needed, and pick up anything you forgot, in the Albertsons mall), turn Right on Windsor Island Rd N, Left on Naples st N, and Left into Spongs Landing Park. roughly 3 miles from the I-5 exit.

I know that, and I know some are guests from other garrisons, my point was just to get a little more noise out there. The picnic will be a blast and I just want more people to enjoy it with us.
-
If it's possible for me to carpool with somebody (I live in SE) I can make it for sure.
I can cover $$ for gas and bring goodies. Thinking drinks, chips, maybe a fruit/veggie mix as well.

the gates open at 8 AM. our area is reserved form 10 AM til sunset(8:30-9:30?). I will be there before 10 to get some things organized. you can all decide for yourselves what time is best for you. I would think no later than 12, and when we all get tired of having fun there we can head to my house for poker/movies/video games after clean-up. And the offer still stands, if anyone doesnt want to drive home that night I have lots of room..................old tony kenobi

I can't leave any earlier than 7am which GPS puts me there at around 945, baring "potty" breaks for the kids.

I'm heading to Costco in about an hour or so -- if there's anything last minute we need, let me know and I can pick it up. I'll be picking up the bottled water and a dessert, and likely whatever else looks tasty that catches my eye.

That was awesome, and I had fun. Sorry for ducking out so quickly, but Michele was really feeling awful and had been sitting in the car for about an hour while I talked about zombies and Batman costumes.
Thanks everyone for getting this all organized, I'd name names but am afraid I would leave someone out. It was a great success!

WOW! that was too much fun 8). for those of you who couldnt stick around, the horseshoes, golf and poker was a GREAT ending to an already awesome day :dancechewie: . thanks to everyone who turned out, (it made all the hard work TOTALLY worth it), and helped out, Especially David for helping he get the park in shape, and Ralph for getting it all started and coordinating the whole thing, (damn it, i missed out on the chili:evil: ). I think it would be great to have this as an annual event, and I would gladly do it all over again. now I need a nap :P ......old tired tony kenobi
-
I will make a fresh batch of chilli just for you Tony my next trip up. I want to say a BIG thanks to Tony and David for doing the maintenance to the park. If I knew there was power I would have brought a TV and DVD player for the kids, next time. I want to thank everyone that showed up, I was worried that we would have like 10 people show up. I had a great time, my kids had a great time and I am glad to hear people enjoyed themselfs. I already have plans for next year to make it better. It was good to put faces to "call signs" since I am still relatively new to your garrison. I can tell you after talking to a lot of you and after the meeting I am more pumped about being in the garrison.
Rob, thank you for allowing me to help with the birthday party. Cooking in general is theraputic and I was glad to help.
Bill, great talk, like I said what ever I can do to help.
Kyle, you have my number. Thanks again for letting me do this.
Tony, we will talk again.
Thanks again, hope we don't have to wait until next year to do again-Holiday party anyone
For those of you that can help I believe we collected half of the fee's for the park rental and could use a little assistance on collecting the rest. Thanks again.
-
Ditto, man... I will send you some more info in a PM tomorrow when I have more time to get all the info together...
- Bill
-
BTW who do I send the pictures to and it what format do you want them?
